You do realize that Switch can be played on a TV as well?

Also the chances of Nintendo selling additional Joy-Cons is extremely high.

Hmm...I'd rather buy the 'pro' controllers than buy additional Joy-cons if i wanted additional controllers.

Good for you........than buy the "pro" controller

I don't see people going through this effort just to play together on a 2 inch screen surface with a controller.

I'm pretty sure it's a joke thread... especially now the image has changed to the people using Nes and Snes controllers on the Switch.

I remember playing 8 player smash in Highschool with just using the Wii U gamepad XD The room that were allowed to go to didnt have an hdmi slot on the projector sooook we just did that for like 20 minutes XD

Pocky Lover Boy!

What am I even looking at?

Eight players playing four different games on one screen? Sounds like the most annoying thing ever. And who get's the sound?

Just like everyone gets the screen, everyone gets the sound!

Looks pretty unneccesary if you ask me :p

Having one system connect to 8 controllers to play 4 different games at once..

(Nintendo wants everyone to get their own so this wouldn't happen :p )

Normal people manage just fine, for everyone else there are speakers inside controllers these days.

It's the male equivalent of 8-player Just Dance. You only have to connect 4 controllers because each one splits into 2. It doesn't have to be 4 different games. It could be 4 x SF2.

It isn't very demanding to run 4 NES/SNES emulators at the same time. Setting up 8 controllers on PC would be a nightmare if not impossible. It wouldn't be much effort for Nintendo.

Nintendo's best chance of getting people to buy Switch is for them to play it first.

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

All these people bitching about splitscreen is beyond me. Back in the days we were playing Goldeneye in 4-player split-screen on a 14" CRT and it was a friggin' blast, one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences  I have in mind. Now we have bloody huge 60" TVs everywhere and splitscreen gaming is pretty much dead. Why? Sure, on a 6" tablet it's a little over the top, but why are there so few splitscreen games these days? I don't get it. And I like it that Nintendo goes more into that direction.

PCs are worse.

They're supposed to be all powerful and can comfortably support upto 9 monitors but getting a 4 or even 2 player 'splitscreen/multi-monitor' game going is impossible without devs taking the time to implement it. Support for 2 mice? Ha.

As for playing more than one game at the same time. Good Luck.

On a side note, if each joycon has a headphone socket then Nintendo have just come up with a device that can play multiple video streams with their own dedicated audio.

Connected to a 4KTV, Switch could provide 4 x 1080p video streams on the same screen with joycon-headphones each.
