The latest system update for Xbox One promises to make download speeds up to 80% faster.

As detailed on Xbox.com, the update will benefit those with high-speed connections (greater than 100Mbps), who "should experience up to 80% faster download speeds". Those with connections less than 100Mbps "should experience more consistant performance that is up to 40% faster than before".

Dang at the comments on that article either ranging from "there is no issue here with the system, everyone who says otherwise is a troll" or "ps4 does everything better" It's like a parody version of what the very worst of VGchartz can be at times, but... I fear for their site that isn't a parody.

As for the update, that is fairly cool how they suggest it will work, basically a new algorithm to better balance out what would otherwise be very careful use of your internet connection to not cause congestion but I guess the original setup for this feature was far more careful than it needed to be, Everyone should give this update a test with Lost Odyssey before the end of Dec, download all 4 glorious discs of that game and see if it's faster.

The caps coupled with the promise of increasing your internet download speed was giving off a bit of a "website popup" vibe.

I wonder if my system might be installed with malware too, I better install some malware to check my system! (that sort of popup haha)

It's still way faster to install a disc than to download the entire freakin' game lol

About time, I remember seeing the comparisons when PS4 and XBO launched and both were dwarfed by Steam's speeds.
