So that must be the reason why squenix has several apps in top50 most grossed and downloaded apps in apple store. The reason why squenix always have at least 1 game in top10 best selling games every year. Damn japanese is such a masochist country /s

wow "several in the top 50" what an amazing accomplishment! /s

https://www.appannie.com/apps/ios/top/japan/overall/?device=iphone

oops, looks like only 3 in the top 50 most grossing. great accomplishment.

pls switch to games subsection next. And pls name me companies that actually deliver more than squenix in that market

Ofc, we the internet are always the only person that knows japan the best

Errr what other companies that actually are more represented there than squenix? Look at the top 50 downloaded and paid games as well.

Japan hates squenix so much they managed to make squenix inhouse games Bravely, DQ builders, and FFXV become one of the top selling games in their respective console.

and what are you even trying to imply with that picture?

um.. japanese gamers have to buy a japanese language pack, from a japanese owned studio, Square Enix. Whats not to get?

You want to make a point with casual mobile games I can see that, and given visual representation of my point, and ironically yours to some extent actually helping mine, makes your case alittle off balance, because I'm referring specifically to console gaming. If you don't see it already, let me be more specific, Japanese core gamers don't like Square Enix.

I think we'll see a shift when FFVII Remake comes out. I know a lot of Japanese gamers really like FFVII, and has been begging SE for a remake since Wada was SE president.

I got it now. You dont even read my posts. And thief is a pc gaming (a much more insignificant market compared to mobile games) and it's not even made by squenix in-house studio, but whatev

I read your post, it just that most of it has nothing to do with the topic so instead of straying off I stayed on point.. Secondly Thief is published by Square Enix, and made by a company owned by Square Enix, therefore you guess it, is a game owned by Square Enix.

so pulling out bullsht is acceptable because it "stayed on point"? At least bring a better example to prove your point. In what part of japan pc gaming is more significant than mobile gaming?

what part of my statement is bullshit? I specifically said that anyone can ask a Japanese gamer about Square Enix and their relations with the Japanese core gamers. And, why do you want to stray off into casual mobile again when clearly that's not what I'm referencing. what kind of BS is this?

edit: unless the Japanese person I spoke to lied to me, i might owe you an apology.

The problem with looking at numbers like how you just did, is that if you already are thinking something before you look at it then you will pretty much see exactly what you adid need to see to push your argument.

First off, Yakuza 5 opened with 350k+ on the PS3 in 2012 to an install base of over 8M.

Yakuza 6 opened with 210k+ to an install base of around 3M and you call that a flop??????

Yakuza 3 FW sales:

01. [PS3] Yakuza 3 (SEGA) 372,000 / NEW

PS3 install base at the time:

PS3 - 2,854,429

This argument holds absolutely no weight.  Especially since PS4 sales are 3,837,744 at the time of Yakuza 6's release, meaning PS4 actually had a ~ 1m advantage over PS3.

Japanese core gamers hate squenix, but squenix games are still some of the best selling games in ps4, vita, and 3ds. Dont you see the problem there? ppl dont buy things that they hate. You wanna knw a real good example of hate? Take a look at NMS and refunds.

Oh wait, maybe i misintepret your comment. Anyone that doesnt hate squenix must be a casual gamer.
