Sony are very good at making new IPs that sell over 1m. That's quite the compliment you've paid them there.

If all of these are new IPs, then yeah, great job.

The Last of Us
DriveClub
Until Dawn
The Order: 1886
Bloodborne
Nintendo Land
Tomodachi Life
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Super Mario Maker
Splatoon

Sony:

Bloodborne

Horizon Zero Dawn

The Last Guardian

Detroit: Become Human

Until Dawn

Driveclub

The Order 1886

Knack

Death Stranding

Days Gone

Helldivers

Resogun

All these have or will be played by over a million people. Such beautiful diversity!

Let me guess, your trying to imply consoles are dying and pc games mostly sell 25+ mill.

When it comes to sales don't consoles 98% of the time sell more then on PC.

And yeah 25 milion when they are free, those sell like hotcakes :D

Why is CoD 4 up there?

In truth, i doubt there is any game that has sold 20-25M copies on its own.

You will find thst if you look at every game that you mention that hits that number it was because the game was bundled with hardware on way or another.

And realistically speaking, a game doesn't even have to sell that much. In the time of the PS2 era all a game needed to do was sell 1M copies to be deemed a success. Then "platinum hits" were a thing. With HD gaming that number went up to around 1.5-2.5M. If any game can manage 2M and up now it's at least turning a profit.

Minecraft doesn't count.... there are probably toasters that the game was released on.

25m+ Completely New

Minecraft has managed over 100m spread across multiple platforms and generations. (360/PS3 managed 16m exc digital)

20m+ New/25m+ Reboot*

Kinect Adventures:2010

*NSMB:2009

Wii Fit:2007

*CoD4 MW: 2007 (16m, later versions sold 25m+)

2006-Wii Sports, Wii Play. 2005-Nintendogs, Brain Age

10m+ New/Peaked

Destiny:2014

Batman Arkham:2009

Just Dance:2009

Assassin's Creed:2007

Guitar Hero 3:2007(Guitar Hero:2005)

Red Dead Redemption:2010(Revolver:2004)

2007 seems to be the record holder for 1m+ new/rebooted IPs. I think I can count 26.

Will there be a new or rebooted 20-25m IP this gen? I think RDR2 might be able to hit 20m depending on available install base.

Interesting, can you make a thread to inform us about the +50M and +100M sellers. It's very important.

Yup, the higher the better... Also let's put facebook and ios/android games on the rank and show that actually the rank is totally dominated by titles not released on consoles =]

Why not? It manages to break records at many systems. And it is one of the only games that never had a sale.

It's hard for any IP to sell 25M in 10 years aside from a few exceptions, let alone new IP.. You would basically need a yearly or biyearly franchise to sell those numbers

Splatoon for example would need a new game every 2 years and sell 5M each to just hit that number :/

Sea of Thieves does not deserve to be forgotten!

It hasn't even released yet. So I don't see why you are bring it up?

Are you assuming it will hit 25+ million?
