If they have a 4G model for those looking to use it as a portable device, the I will be on board day one.

But it is a portabl gaming device?. It's not a phone/office tool.

Yes, and even if it does not support calling and text, there is still a thing called online gaming that is massivly popular on phones and gaming device, however, on the go, you need a 4G connecton to take advantage of it. There is not always a wifi hotspot available, and some public and private areas monitor for people using their phones as a wifi hotspot for security reason. The only way to garentee great mutliplayer on the go is if this has a 4G option.

On top of that I want the Portable form factor to remain viable, it has to evolve for that to happen. People have not chose the slab phone over portables, they have had  no option for a higher quality mobile experience. I just want Sony, Nintendo, or Microsoft to offer a portable gaming phone that leverages their current library of games, their network, and their services. It doesn't matter which one does it, I just want an actual option in the mobile market, just like I want an option for a high powered PC that is not Windows, but actualy has support unlike Linux and MAC.

So again, if Nintendo actually trys to evolve the market, and offers 4G, then I will be on board day one. If the Switch is still marching towards the death of Nintendo and Portable gaming, then I will continue to pass. I already have a Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, PSP, and PS Vita if I want to play an unconnected portable device.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. I will consider one if the console sell consistently good after launch. Will give it a period of 6 to 12 month to have an idea of the type of support its gonna get.

When there is a new X rpg or fire emblem, but since i buy like 5 games per nintendo console, i probably not buy this early.

I'll need new and exclusive games from at least half of this franchises before I can contemplate buying one:

- Fire Emblem
- Advance Wars
- Zelda (not counting BotW)
- Pikmin
- Golden Sun
- Pokemon
- Star Fox
- Kirby
- Tokyo Mirage Sessions
- Kid Icarus
- Sin & Punishment
- Ace Attorney
- Baten Kaitos
- Mega Man
- Shin Megami Tensei
- Suikoden (at least let me dream)
- Etrian Odyssey

As long as the releases are constant, then i'll purchase it.

PSn - greencactaur
Nintendo Switch FC - SW - 5152 - 6393 - 5140 Please feel free to add me :)

Several of those franchises are either dead, not Nintendo property or just released games so the safe bet would be on you not getting a Switch until year 3 at earliest hehe

If the Switch gets Final Fantasy VII, that will probably be a big factor for me. Otherwise, I will just sit back and wait for its library to grow. There are still a lot of great games on the Wii U eShop and Virtual Console that I have never played that can keep me busy for a long time.

True, but I never said that I was asking only for Nintendo properties, and the 3DS was able to pull it off. Only Suikoden and maybe Baten Kaitos are truly impossible, but yeah, year 3 seems like asafe bet.
