Maybe it's just my imagination, but I got a feeling that the textures are a little more higher res than on the Wii u. I could be wrong though....

Seems like Nintendo is doing everything right so far when it comes to the Switch; they've come to play this time around and that makes me happy as a Nintendo fan. What makes me doubly happy is that this was a complete out-of-nowhere surprise.

Likely not. That 4th button they are still hiding and well Nintendo is known to show off things well before the final design

For example DS as it was shown at E3 2004 just months away from release vs the final design

I think it will be for better or for worse. There are quite a few tablets that have bezels like that and only the high end ones like the ipad and surface have thin bezels. And even then, only since the ipad air and surface pro 3 did apple and MS try to have much thinner bezels

But if we are being honest, this is still leagues more premium than what we are used to from Nintendo handhelds/portables. Though I am not sure if it is a design choice and not a cost cutting measure. They could have thinner bezels but the device would also cost more.

Larger size = better chipset because you have more internal space for heat to dissipate from a more powerful chip. 

Also means possibility of active cooling.  This thing sits at the absolute cusp of being incapable of having a fan in it.  I will gladdly trade pocketability for being able to run at a higher clock.  And right now it certainly looks like it has a fan in it.

Soundwave: I put everything in my jean pockets. Of course, I wear jnco and kikwear pants so everything fits in my large pockets.

 

Nuvendil: The console must have the fan in it because the dock seems to be missing a fan...
