Xbox "maybe this time"

That would confuse people into thinking its a new gen. (remember the "Wii" "WiiU" issue, of people getting things mixed up?) You cant not have "Xbox One + name" in it imo.... unless MS really are planning to forget about the Xbox One, and start a new gen. In which case, Xbox Two makes so much more sense than XBOX 10 does. |
XBOX 10 = Xbox + Windows 10
:P

I get that... still think its a bad name.
I think either you do really differnt names, gen to gen, like Nintendo does (exception being wii -> wii U)
Or you use numbers correctly.
That means if you have "One", the next is "Two".

Xbox, the good One
Xbox One Elite or Xbox Elite most likely. Microsoft will keep going with their naming scheme I believe which is a good one :)

Xbox -> Xbox 360 -> Xbox One, is a good naming scheme?
I hope they just settle for One -> Two -> Three ect ect ect.
Build their brand name up.
I honestly hope Nintendo learn and do something simularly.

That "no generation" thing is nonsense. They would need unlimited forwards compatibility. |
Well it is not impossible and more important gamers would love it...

First I'm talking about the Elite suffix like the controller.
Also, not going for 1, 2, 3 etc is not a bad thing at all.
Important part is to keep the Xbox name like they always did: Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
So yah, I think Microsoft are doing well not going for 1, 2, 3 etc... and using Elite for a more hardcore/advanced version of the product.
And hopefully they will not use something like "Pro" as Sony did; as this has nothing to do with a "profesionnal" version of the product; I personnaly do not like the name (while the console is good). Elite would just be perfect imo.
While I don't see MS sticking with a number scheme, if they were to stay that course then,
Xbox One Sc (c model like apple, also short form for Scorpio)
Xbox One SE (another apple name, like c and pro)
Xbox 540 (follows the 360 train of thought, and also sounds slightly better/ahead of PS4/PS5) Xbox 1080 (follows 360 again, but also fits with Windows 10)
