I dont get what's going here. Im not part of the teenage - young adult males that bitch like girls camp. I need help.

What I read is not that the game is incomplete, but whatever happens in chapter 13 users were not satisfied with it so they be giving a more satisfying conclusion. Then extra bells and whistle that they had not intended for the game like playing with NPC's and even a create your own character system... For free. We got as it was intended but now they're changing it to make whiners happy. What exactly is everybody bitching about?

If they'd have made this statement after releasing the 60fps patch they promised a while ago, or at the same time as the patch in it's releae notes then one could forgive the dellusional ambition they are showing to some degree.

It still reeks of sycophantic revisionist nonsense that a few developers are known for.

When is Kingdom Hearts "Death by Boredom waiting" V36.3632632 coming out again?

edit: Was not intending to insult Kingdom Hearts here, referring to delays and revisionism.

I don't want avatars, I want outfits goddamit! Give me all the best attires you can conjure! D:

Or they could've fixed the shit parts BEFORE release. Well if that's not a novel idea! This is a single player game without lasting appeal or replayability. You had one chance and one only Square Enix. You blew it.

Pretty good updates for people who didn't buy at launch, i.e. not the fans you owed an at least passable game.

I think my post has been missinterpreted. I'm a msssive fan of JRPGs, and all things JRPG including Kingdom Hearts. I'm not a fan of delays hence "death by boredom" though and I'm referring to the various incremental upgrades and versions of Kingdom Hearts as a reference to Square Enix going back over a franchise to tweak instead of producing the game they really wanted the end user to enjoy.

You will see in a previous post or two I have said I'm waiting for the 60fps patch for the PS4 Pro, proud owner of a launch PS4 and a PS4 Pro.

If that wasn't clear then I apologize. I'm not one to skirt round discussiona and I strongly disagree with the revisionist type development that Square Enix are proposing here for FFXV and considering the thread title was "FF15 updates" and others have mirrored sentiments similar to mine....

Is that not reasonable debate?

Maybe it isn't, and I'm happy to hear any counter argument, most importantly I wasn't not trolling on purpose here.

I've (i'm) played the game. And I alomg with over 40 reviewers believe the game is great as it is. This just means it would be better. And you are talking about them fixing something they didn't even feel was bad or needed fixing until gamers talked about it. Most devs would have just left it as is and move on. they aren't. yet that's somehow a bad thing?

Every game in thr planet has that one level or one part you just don't like as much as the rest or that feels off. These guys chose to do something about it. And they aren't the first to do that. it happened with the witcher and it happened with fallout 4. But somehow FF15 doing it means they failed their fan base?

I think the general impression is that with games like Fallout 4 and Witcher, because they are action RPGs and character focused where the story is modular, adding new chunks of game feels natural and dynamic. Wheras a JRPG is a narrative that is given to you.

Though FFXV may be more open world than previous entries it's still a product offering a set narrative. Just my feelingf though and possible explanation.

To say they failed their fanbase would be a gross overstatement basing it off them adding extra cutscenes and so forth but I think the point is it seems superflous in the case of a JRPG when the updates would be quite a way down the line.

I really dislike the industry standards set by crappy Western publishers and developers. They're constantly making videogames less consumer friendly and keep getting away with it. Just go away and pimp out other medium, allow the industry to go back to the 6th gen, when games were finished by the time they launched, non need for 20gb day one mandatory patches, etc.

I wish Square would've approached this in a different way, although it seems they have all the right intentions... It just screams of crappy Western influence.

But hey, if that means I might be able to play as Ignis or Prompto (which should've been a feature already, mind you) so be it.

They're adding the ability to make your own character?

Fuck yes.

They're improving content and not fixing anything. Fixing is meant for broken things and there's nothing broken here. They mentioned Ravus who is a side character, he doesn't have much presence in the game but the game does explain some of the happenings around him if you actually listen and explore(they talk about him and certain events about what happened when the city was attacked on radios for example. Not the best way to do things, I know). So they're probably going to make those into custscenes now. Ravus' ending does leave a lot to be desired though but again, he is a side character. The story focuses on Noctis and his gang and it delivers on that part, immensely, but at the cost of side characters like Ravus losing attention(part of their stories are often told by the news on radios, including a bit of Luna's).

Then again, Tabata still deserves criticism for his approach to the story of FFXV. Kingsglaive and Brotherhood SHOULD HAVE BEEN in the game. I commend his dedication to improving FFXV but his ideas and approach are just often questionable. It's apparent he thought FFXV will be perfect - he said FFXV will be the highest rated FF game of all time which means he thought all the problems in his version of FFXV's story are actually great things.

Anyway, I hope if Tabata ever returns to an FF game, he just focuses on the gameplay aspect as he excels on that department. FFXV is amazing in gameplay and content but is a bit lacking in story, even more so if you haven't watched Kingsglaive or brotherhood.
