Good tips. I may just continue now as the mobs are getting a bit too tough for me currently. Level 40 mobs may be a bit too good for level 33 characters.

I need to get o my better fishing equipment anyway.

I still really hate it though. SE has put in some effort to make collecting things and doing side quests as annoying as possible.

GUYS FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY USE FUCKING SPOILER FONT!

I am about 20 hours in and having a great time. Still in Chapter 3, at level 30. I feel like my current level is probably high for where I am? I haven't done any grinding, just a lot of side quests/hunting.

lol I was looking for it. it is under styles. Found it now.

I really did not spoil anything though (because I could not find the font).

It took me 3 hours to kill that one because I didn't camp and buff myself at all prior to, and I was severely under-leveled.

What level were you... if you don't mind me asking?

67.  The best weapon I had was Ultima Blade.  I didn't have any spells with a potency over 250 made, and the other guys were rocking chapter 14 store weapons.  I initially got near the monster to show it to my wife and then wound up getting it down about 10% in the 15 minutes she was sitting there watching so I decided to give it an honest try at that point.

If you enjoyed it, i recommend you play the Xenoblade games and the FFXIV mmo. I think you will enjoy them alot.

That is really surprising. I thought this one was a goner for sure. I will save some bucks to buy it then.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Xenoblade games play nothing like FF XV. Other than the exploration side, they are nothing alike. And XCX has even weaker/less storytelling than FF XV.

Combat sucks but the game is decent. I have a lot of issues with the game but it's a major step up from 13. Nothing has come close to XCX for me tho.

The problem with XCX is getting used to its combat. took about 3 hours in the game to master it

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

XCX has some of the best exploration I've ever seen in a game. it was an amazing experience going everywhere. Imagine what it could've done if it was on an even stronger console

I played FF14 back in 2014. I liked it alot, really like the world and theme. I got pretty addicted... I try to stick with games that end at some point now...

My favorite genre is SRPGs like Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Disagea (have only played D5). I tried to pick up Xenoblade about a year ago but no one sells it new, and it goes for over 100 dollars online or if GS has it they want that much.

I loved FFXV as a game, it scratched my hardcore JRPG itch a bit, but now I want to play a more traditional one... I think that is why FFXV is sitting around 84 on meta instead of more around 90, many reviewers loved the older style of FF games, so it was hard for them to give it a 9 or 10 because not traditional enough. My expectations were pretty low (I was not digging the more realistic aesthetic, which I ended up loving the art direction, and the demo did not do much for me) so I ended up being blown away. Had I been overhyped I would have been focusing on what it does not do, rather than what it does. FFXV is the best FF in multiple categories, but it is definitly the weakest in things like character progression and flexibility. Those weakness are not bad IMO and they would not have been held against it if it did not have FF in the name. But people expect that, so it clouded their personal reception of the game.

I agree, but i fear there's no way back after this. The expectation will be for FF to be open-world from now on, just like every other console RPG. :/

Mass effect will be the next victim, i'm sure.
