Forums - Sales - Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G hits 1 million in 6 days!

http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1214457_1124.html

According to famitsu, MHP2G hits 1 million in just 6 days, so it will be more than 1 million a week and also higher than the Brawl! We should able to see at least 1 million sales or above on both VGChartz and M-Create this week. Hooray, for the end of continuously sucks PSP sofware sales. PSP owner, Let's Roar!!!

Poor PS3 Sales Means Smaller Losses

"Actually, because the number of units sold was not as high as we hoped, the loss was better than our original expectation," Quotes from Sony’s CFO Nobuyuki Oneda.

The first six days of sales are spread over 2 tracking weeks, so not all will be covered in this weeks numbers. Anyway, nice start for the game, maybe it hit 1m in last weeks numbers anyway. I've not read the article yet, but think maybe you've translated wrong? Day six isn't even over yet, so I'd guess they are talking about last weeks numbers, and then mentioned that it released six days ago.

Hanafuda's jaw must've dropped right now.

Google translating makes it seems like they're talking about shipments, which makes sense, as Capcom will have that data already. We'll have to wait until tomorrow for actual first week sales.

First 6 days sales: 3/27-4/1.

Yes, the article says "shipment". But considering people are willing to pay double-triple of its retail price at Amazon to play this game. I am not surprised it's still sold out everywhere.

In Capcom's previous quarterly report, they raised the sale forecast of MHP2G from 700K to 900K (to 3/31). This # is in line with their prediction.

It (PS3's market share) might hit 30%, but definently not more. ~ Neo

Yeah, it just says that Capcom managed to ship 1 million units within a 6 day period in Japan.

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

That is quite impressive, might sell over 2 million lifetime now.

wow - very nice sales!

Looks good, can't wait for the Wii version 8>

The sales seem roughly in line with MHP2 (no real surprise) - which did 750k week#1, and 150k week#2.

The question is, can it end up with a different sales curve from MHP2? Maybe so if new PSP owners purchase it, AND existing MHP2G owners also get it. Definitely the premiere PSP title out there.
