Has Sony's focus on games trumped their recent missteps??

Yes, it's all about the games 185 88.52%

No, give me a 4k Blu ray ... 24 11.48%

Total:209

Those "missteps" would've been only that if they were behind already. Sony had momentum from the start and has piled on more and more hardware and software to make that hype train heavier and faster. Throwing a few people in front of that train won't make it slow down.

Last of us launched only months before the new gen started. Knack is a new IP and it got a sequel because it turned a proit. God of War is not a new IP but they do let some games survive. Horizon is a new IP. The Last Guardian, which has taken so damn long to come out. Until Dawn was also a new ip. There are plenty more second and third party games. There will be more new IP's coming, I assure you.

Yeah, still doesn't make The Last of Us 2 a new IP, does it? Knack made a profit? I doubt it, it wasn't received well at all and it got heavily bundled. Still doesn't make Knack 2 a new IP. Until Dawn isn't even made by Sony and it doesn't even do much new in its genre anyway.

I care for good games anyway, regardless of whether or not they're new IPs. I'd rather play another Pokémon game than The Order 1886 or Knack.

Until Dawn was made by supermassive, who makes exclusives solely for Sony. Almost all of their games are pretty much Sony games, which means Sony is priming them to be purchased. Sony doesnt want to take unnecessary risks.

What you consider to be a good game is purely your own opinion and I respect that. I think all three brands excel at certain things.

i dont agree with your "missteps" and i dont need a uhd bluray player to play games.

They've done a phenomenal job, such a strong showing at PSX considering the already strong showing at e3 this year, two massive events and they had the announcements for it. As long as e3 2017 doesn't suffer it's been an absolutely remarkable showing from Sony.

With Crash Bandicoot (triology remaster), TLOU2, WipeOut Omega Collection, Knack II, God of War 4, Ace Combat 7, Detroit become human, Days Gone, Yakuza 0 and 6, Death Stranding, Gravity Rush II all console/PS4 exclusive, I'm feeling Sony has made up for their recent missteps...

New Spiderman is a PS4 exclusive, so is Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted lost legacy (standalone game), the last guardian, GT Sports, Final Fantasy 7 remake, Nioh, Rime, Wild,....ect ect.

Skyrim mods? meh... missing UHD blu-ray drive, if it keeps prices of PS4slims down... fine.

I dont really feel like sony has made any real miss steps, and their games library keeps growing.

As a handheld gamer and vita, not ps4, owner, this thread sounds like a joke. There's no focus on games for it, from Sony's part.

Sony has had these games in development for years. They were just waiting for them to be ready. Their focus has always been on games but they take time to develop. While other companies make old games, they focus on new ips.

You mean new IPs like The Last of Us 2, God of War 4, Knack 2 (why is that even a thing?) and a remake of the original Crash Bandicoot trilogy?

Alrighty then.

I mean, he did say compared to other companies.

Off the top of my head Sony has either announced or released Knack, Driveclub, TLG, Rigs, Dreams, Horizon, and Days Gone.

That's 7 strictly first party new IP. That's probably not too far off of what Microsoft and Nintendo have released or announced combined.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

While Sony haven't been "lazy", they have fucked up on a few things. One thing I haven't been worried about though is the stream of games.

As for delays, they are annoying but it doesn't mean they will disappear into thin air. Besides I think most delays were moved for tactical reasons.

Nope, Sony has been fucking up since launch in the games department, the weakest launch line up of any console. And the continues here's game X and game Y, they're years out but please get hyped and the constant delay bullshit. Look at PSX 2016, here's TLOU2 .... probably a 2019 game at the earliest.

Sonys management of its exclusive games this gen has been pisspoor, that's they're biggest misstep, so no OP.

You know you are full of it when you have to come up with bs liek that.

They have the most highest rated exclusives.

Tehy have the most higest rated games overall.

I assume coz your not using your big boy account this isn't the first time a negative comment has triggered you.

I wasn't aware TLOU 2 is coming next year, they probably have never delayed a game in your head either?

Also your last two sentences mean nothing to me.

I assume you are quite deluded in your everyday life to.

Its announced as 2018, you claim 2019 at the earliest sounding like a fool.

YAhh ND is so known for their near 2 year long delays lmao.
