Forums - Microsoft - Nextbox - Will we get MGSV and FFXIV and GTVI?

MGS - seem unlikely (just my opinion, no real facts to back it up)

FF - You are high, that's all there is to it. Square Enix is a Japanese company with no reason to work with Microsoft. Most likely for FF14 is PSWii, although I could see it being exclusive to either PS3 or Wii. FF will not appear on any microsoft console ever

GTA - This one's a given. Even if Sony throws an arseload of money at Rockstar, the most they will get for it is timed exclusivity

 Way to no read the OP or even any other post in the thread.  Nobody is talking about Grand Theft Auto(GTA).  The game in question is Gran Turismo (GT).

Mil. Sellers:

Wii:      25 titles       101.4 mil total    avg 4 mil per title

PS3:     14 titles      28.6 mil total    avg ~2 mil per title

360:     41 titles      89.8 mil total   avg  >2 mil per title

Sony will pay enough to keep FF XIV on their system (or I am getting a Wii)
MGS 5, is unlikely to ever exist, 4 is the end of the saga, and he is moving on to ZOE 3 or some other project
GT 6 is owned by sony

Hi.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

Square Enix has indicated that it wants to develop more for the Xbox 360.

However, I doubt it will put the main line of its signiture international series on a Microsoft console.

But then again, since it has shifted the main line of its signiture Japanse series (Dragon Quest) to a handheld, it is not outside of the realm of possiblity.

@munkeh111

do you honestly think there will be a FF14 this gen?

@Rocketpig

that one doesn't count..

MGS5 (not V, 5) is probably going to be released on PS3. Now that most expensive work (engine and basics) have been done already, I doubt they have any need for more money than they will get on PS3. Also, at the time of MGS5's release, there will be a lot more PS3s. No, definitely not coming to X360 unless it somehow flops, which would actually mean it's a bad game. Next-gen MGS? Too early to say. I'm pretty sure Kojima is trying to end the series already but I can't really say much without playing MGS4 and MGS5. I'm afraid he'll be starting it again in MGS5... I think it's really time for an end already before the whole series gets somehow ruined by Konami.

FFXIV might also be coming this gen. They will stick with PS3 unless FFXIII fails. X360 isn't going to save them in Japan so it's not their hope in Japan either. As for the rest of the world... I think PS3 is enough for FFXIII and they'll stick with PS3 in the future as well. Next-gen FF, however, could be a very different story.

Next GTA might well be PS3 exclusive due to PS3's success and Blu-ray. Next-gen GTA, however, is probably going to be multiplatform.

The more I type, the more I realize the next generation is very worrying indeed. The only exclusives are going to be 1st party as it's going to become too expensive to develop good games on a single platform. It's very expensive even now. I think we might be going to see some huge deals. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sony tightening their relation with SE.

EDIT: GT, not GTA? I'd better learn to read. No, definitely. There's no way they would release it on X360. Sony will buy them if they even think about it (if they really haven't yet). No, no and once again no. Besides, GT series has always sold very vell on Sony systems. One of the most succesful exclusives it seems.

To be fair to all the ignorant people saying FF has never been on the Xbox, MMORPGs are different.

"SE doesn't whore games like EA."

That is correct; SE whores games in an entirely different manner.

"Square enix and Electronic arts merged a sub company in 1998, read wiki before you post."

Perhaps if you had followed your own advice you would have learned that Square ENIX wasn't merging with ANYONE in 1998, as it did not yet exist.

Metal gear has appeared on the Xbox 1 before, Kojima seems to want to express his artistic vision on the best technology. I think this is a distinct possibility.

Kojima was looking for a reason to develop for the PS3. He once said that they're all about the same: the PC, the PS3, and the Xbox 360. He then said he wanted to develop for the PS3 because it hasn't really been done much before -- the 360 was a well known object, and he wanted to explore the new system.  He later said that 50GB wasn't enough space to bring a cinematic experience to home consoles and he might need two Blu-ray discs.

Then again, it seems as though he's not the best at assessing new technology. He recently admitted that he badly overestimated the Cell.
