Because i literally see dozens of people selling new copies of infinite warfare online and at garage sales... what's going on??

im glad its on the decline then! I am still looking for gears 4 cheap
If the sp is actually good, I will probably get it on sale eventually. Haven't played a COD since MW 2.

I didn't try the multiplayer, but right now I'm on the campaign, Advanced Warfare campaign was better. (I didn't play BO3)
The problem with this campaign is that the gameplay is shaky, the space battles are cool though, but the gunfight are just not as intense and precise as the ones in Advanced Warfare, and I think AW has one of the best campaign in the series, the way it uses technologies, there is so much smart missions, it reminded me of Perfect Dark in some ways.
Infinite Warfare's gameplay is kind of dumb in comparison, but the setting, the action, are top notch. Both deserve to be played.
As for multiplayer, I don't care much for the multiplayer of COD.

Some sort of franchise fatigue is finally starting to set in, plus there are a lot of options this year (Overwatch, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2...).

I don't think it's anything to do with CoD as a franchise declining, I think it's more to do with having a futuristic setting 3 years running.
Call of Duty has sucked hard since 2007. This year was just a little more evident.

That too. Considering people was more excited for CoD4 Remaster than for IW and the whole youtube trailer debacle, the audience has left quite clear they want to go back to a modern realistic setting.
