Forums - Gaming - Nintendo Switch to have "Pro" upgrade?

So, with the recent PS4 Pro, and upcoming Xbox Upgrade, it got me thinking.  Would the Switch have a similar upgrade?  How popular will it need to be for Nintendo to warrent doing something like that.

The main issue with me is, I have 10 consoles already.  I honestly didn't use my PS4 anywhere near enough to not care about the pro.  The few games I did play on PS4, were games I already owned on PS3, and the others were multi-platform games I could have gotten on PC.  That leaves me with PT, and Uncharted 4, being the only true PS4 games I ever played, and I'd spent less than 3 hours with each of them.  I can see 100 dollars worth of upgrades, for the Pro... If I didn't already have a PS4.  However, a Pro, would be an extra 400 dollars, which, considering I can already play PS4 games on the PS4 console, it's not worth it.

Of all my consoles, I've never owned a Nintendo console, and I'm not completely decided on the switch.  However, I got to thinking about a potential upgrade and how I would feel if there was a more powerful console.

I guess it all comes down to how much use I'd get out of it before the upgrade.  What's everyone's opinion on this?

Well, N3DS had the "New" N3DS (as Nintendo handhelds usually have), so although Switch is supposed to be a Home Console I suppose it can't be ruled out. Also, there weren't a patent to increase the console power adding different modules?

I can imagine a refresh but nothing in the lines of Pro and Scorpio.

Another dock so the switch could SLI?

I hope not.

God do I hope not. I'm betting on Nintendo to remain the last true console maker and I don't want them to let me down.

It is a handheld, so I do believe so, but not to the level of Pro, I imagine just better CPU, RAM and Battery.

I think it is possible, but I sure hope not. The only way that could be the case was that they rushed it with the Switch.

The Switch will be absolutely MILES behind technologically in 5 years time, I expect a more powerful Switch Model during it's lifespan. I mean phones by the end of 2019 will completely dwarf the Switch.

And as a home console it was underpowered in 2013.

For an extra $200-250, Nvidia could do a GTX 1060 dock that would make it more powerful than a PS4 Pro.

$450-500 for a portable and the strongest console available. A GTX 1060 would be able to keep up with a Scorpio too.
