From the 80-100% sell through figure and 1.9m sales we can deduce that Nintendo had shipped 1.9+m-2.3m ( lets say 2.1m which is the average, because it must have some stock  ) copies for the first week in Japan!

Nintendo has shipped 10m copies of Pokemon S/M  worldwide for the first week, a record for the 3DS... It seems that they  might sell that stock fast!

So, from the 10m shipped copies, the eight million are in the west+rest of the world! Don't be suprised, if you see 3m+ sales fw in the USA and around 3m from EU.

One thing is certain, Nintendo has to ship more copies in Japan this week, because the game must be difficult to be found.

Beautiful!!! But will we ever know its FW sales besides from Vgchartz?

Does NPD report FW sales?
How about at Europe? And the rest of the world? Can we expect Nintendo to say something on it?

Max shipments are 2.35mil if Sun/Moon are just 80%. So that is very good and would mean more shipments coming soon. 10Mil figure is def more WW. Its going to go up anpther 1mil for japan alone

I don't know... It has only two weeks in November npd though, we could extrapolate approximately  its FW sales in the USA by comparing NPD sales and FW sales of here!

I can be sure, that we will find out for its FW sales in the UK, because of MCVUK...

Although, Pokemon S/M is such a huge game release and comes after the Pokemon go mania, at least GFK  could publicizeS/M first week sales, because they have done it with other  major games in the past! As regards npd, I'm not optimistic. We have a notorious leaker on twitter, but I don't know if the NPD breaks down the monthly sales in weeks in their report... The authorized leaker could enlighten us in that!

It's very unlikely to be 80% exactly.  It says 80-100% so probably somewhere in between. 

Yeah 80% is the bottom which will mean for every 1% is up will mean the game will sell that much better WW as 10mil shipment was for fw. That means japan alone can add another 2mil to that number alone.

80% example i gave is the worst case scenario, more percentage it sold the better it is

And more % it sold the lower the FW Japanese shipment. 

It won't even ship 12 Million This year [cit]

By end of 2016, Nintendo will ship Over 17 Million. 👊

Shipment is probably closer to 80% than 90%. Pokemon is available everywhere in Japan, so a second shipment has probably arrived too.

Incredible how strong this series is going 20 years on.
