Forums - Gaming - Can't Wait For Gamestop To Go Under!

Why I understand the hate, its always good to have game retailers because physical games offer more value and are in most cases cheaper, if the console-space ever becomes digital only I would 100% not buy a console and just stick to PC, in the netherlands we also have a store that is just a game-retailer, its called game mania.

They also give crappy prices for pre-used games, altough they do offer a little bit better prices when you use the money you get to buy something in their store they also offer some solid deals every now and then and pre used games are generally prices OK there.

Now I would never trade my games in there and I generally only come for the deals they offer but the fact that they are a running business seems really good to me, because having a collection of PS4 games is really important to me.

And next year when I buy the Xbox Scorpio its nice I can go to a store and get all the exclusives I missed for a nice pre used price ^_^

The store doesn't need to go under, you may only stop doing business with them and let life happens. It isn't healthy to desire for bad things for others, besides that there is the employees that would lose their jobs.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

There's a lot of good people who work at GameStop. They don't deserve to lose their jobs because you expected a billion dollars for your used ass game. Jesus Fucking Christ, the entitlement of some people

Thats nothing, i took in Epic Mickey 2 to the Australian EB games and they told me they would give me 0.15 cents for it xD

Why don't you put your games up on an auction site for around half of what it is new. It helps you and the guy buying it.

I use to reserve games there when they would been known to sell out. I would pay in full a few months in advance and then pick them up on release. Twice they sold my reserved copy to someone else and then tried to sell me an opened one at full price. It has been 2 years since I have been to a Game Stop, and it has since closed it's doors.

...to avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

GameStop keeps changing their business practices in terms of the inventory help stay revelant. But at some point I do see them going away kind of like Blockbusters did. Not quite as fast but I can see it happening.

Expecting a polished turd like The Division to hold its market value is unrealistic. They make all their money the first week and mass print copies.

You're better off selling it on ebay.

I haven't been to a Gamestop in a LONG time. Like, the PS2 era. It was not a good experience. The guy kept badgering me to buy strategy guides I didn't need and pre-orders I didn't want. He even had the nerve to make fun of me because I was buying Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door and not the "hot" game at the time (can't remember what it was, I think it was GTA but I could be wrong). I vowed never to shop there again, and never did.
