They spent several hundred million on the game. Of course Pokemon won't surpass it. It's essentially comparing a rock to a planet- one has much more to it than the other

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

I wonder what Europe's going to do, but these numbers are promising

It was me... And it was more of i hope so situation. Game looks like itll be on a huge rise in the west, especially Europe. I was hoping for japan as well. I hope japan digital is over 100k at least.

Yeah I never bothered replying but I always thought your expectations were ridiculously high.  I didn't care enough to get into a debate but now that they're out its back to reality. Super numbers but 2.5m Japanese opening would have been insane.

Tbf i was hoping it would pull high ass numbers going by West hype. Pokemon had a slight decline in japan this gen. But in the West it went up especially Europe. 

 

Sun and Moon imo will do very well outside of japan.  I think it can potentially outsell COD as best selling game of the year (2016). That said Ill wait for MC which should be around 1.8mil guessing. Digital will play an important rolw here as XY had the worse digital ratio of any game (around 50k first month). SuMo should do decently especially cuz of dl pre orders. 

 

We shall see. Could be a chance of a tie if digital is over 100k, but ill say no for now
