I typically used my "HDMI-IN" port on my PC to connect with consoles and whatnot. After going from 8.1-10, it suddenly stopped working!

I've contacted HP and Microsoft so many times, and yet none of them seem to care at all. Personally, I feel irritated since the computer I have was only purchased one year ago. To think the HDMI port will just go whack out of nowhere is absurd.

Windows 10 has also begun to lag a lot on my devices(which are all decent enough to run it). Am i the only one who prefers 7 much more?

Laptop?

One laptop, one PC

edit: to be more specific, their specs are far from lacking. The laptop has an i7 with 16 GB of ram and Nvidia 940m graphics. The PC has exactly the same specs, but with an i5 instead of an i7. What bothers me is that my incredibly weak PC managed to connect with consoles by an HDMI cord just fine. Why shouldn't a 3-5x more powerful PC be capable of doing the same?

Is the laptop the one you`re trying to connect to though? If not why not just go straight to the monitor rather than the PC?

I connect game devices to my Windows laptops/PC's all the time. Updating to windows 10 has suddenly ruined the HDMI ports for all of them.

You hook up video game systems to your laptop?

Laptop/PC if I ever want to keep it in an area without a TV.

I was more assuming you were connecting to your laptop for the screen/wondering why you`d want to connect to a PC if not just for the screen?

But yeah, I agree with your assessment of Windows 10.

after screwing around for half an hour, I've managed to get closer to an answer than HP customer service(smh).

I've scanned for any new or updated drivers...apparently this thing called "HP my display" suddenly came. I've uninstalled, installed, reset, updated, etc several times with no luck. Apparently many people with the same type of computer as mine apparently have the same issue. I assume then it's a hardware issue. Either way, I lost all trust in HP. Apparently it'll cost 250 to send it. I'd rather spend the $250 on something much better.

To think a one year old device can be dropped into the trash so quickly.

My issue is with sleeping and waking my pc. Before it was as simple and reliable as it should be. Now with W10 such a basic task fucks up all the time in one form or another; never even powering down when I hit the damn button, waking itself back up for no reason, restarting my whole computer when I never told it to, or just encountering a fatal error on wake up and requiring a hard reset. How do you mess up such a time honored function? MS, man...

Revert back to Windows 7 or in your case 8.1 which was working.

I recall waking up 5 times once due to my computer waking up randomly. It also is SUPER LOUD WHEN SLEEPING, something not even my 1.2 GHz PC did. I mean, how can a sleeping PC be so loud? Why does it restart randomly? Why does Microsoft force updates? This pisses me off.

Just yesterday I had to unplug my computer to turn it off due to the windows key not working...like, c'mon..

Have you tried updating the drivers?
