Not even a 0.1% of the potential buyers follow Eurogamers rumours or any media rumours, we are not the norm, we are the clear minority.

Sure the minority, but 0.1% is a vast exaggeration

ANYONE who types "Pokemon Sun and Moon" into google right now gets the Switch version articles as the TOP RESULT. People will hear about this.

Actually no Scratch that, Anyone who types "Pokemon" or even "Nintendo" into google will know about it.

"So... the 0.2%?"

You vastly underestimate how many people will hear. Saying that 99.8% of Pokemon Players don't look up gaming on the internet is a joke.

Yeah, that's what happens with recent news in Google, but they stop being recent quite soon.

Luckily for Nintendo, the Pokekids don't mind buying the same game more than once.

Luckily for the Pokekids, Nintendo games hold their value so a 3DS to Switch trade-in will be what? $20-$30? Given how much it will be played between 3DS release and Switch release that doesn't seem like bad value

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

This news will reach a fair portion of Pokemon's dedicated userbase which could be anywhere from 2m-5m people. I don't think it will have a major effect of sales but it will have an effect. Enough for Nintendo to want to hold back on the announcement, not enough for them to really care in the event of this leak.

Agreed, assuming this particular game isn't an anomaly that drops in price unlike the vast majority of Nintendo games. And yeah I don't believe it will put off to many people either, however I do think that a sizeable chunk of Pokemon Players are going to at least know about it.

No I don't think it will reach that portion of future buyers at all, but even if it did, only a minority inside that minority would change its plans and wait a year, I think the impact would be so low that can be counted as insignificant.

I'm fine with this, but I really hope that the huge Wii U drought was not just so they could prepare a whole bunch of ports.

Glad they are finally listening, took too long to get that franchise on the tele.

PC I i7 3770K @4.5Ghz I 16GB 2400Mhz I GTX 980Ti FTW

Consoles I PS4 Pro I Xbox One S 2TB I Wii U I Xbox 360 S

Eeeh... i'll believe it when i see it. Gamefreak has yet to develop an HD game. And even if they did, it would make more sense to be something new rather than a port of a 3DS game.

This totally counts.
