Yeah, that's what happens with recent news in Google, but they stop being recent quite soon.

This news will reach a fair portion of Pokemon's dedicated userbase which could be anywhere from 2m-5m people. I don't think it will have a major effect of sales but it will have an effect. Enough for Nintendo to want to hold back on the announcement, not enough for them to really care in the event of this leak.
