You vastly underestimate how many people will hear. Saying that 99.8% of Pokemon Players don't look up gaming on the internet is a joke.

Luckily for Nintendo, the Pokekids don't mind buying the same game more than once.

Luckily for the Pokekids, Nintendo games hold their value so a 3DS to Switch trade-in will be what? $20-$30? Given how much it will be played between 3DS release and Switch release that doesn't seem like bad value
