It will be the same situation as the Wii U. Launch is not a problem. It's what comes after. If Zelda is really a May game it could help, but I doubt. It looks more like a traditional holiday release.
Also, as Peelman said, people is asking for Zelda, not Mario. Nintendo must not be as obtuse as they were during thE Wii U era doing whatever they wanted instead of giving people what they ask for.
