Forums - Nintendo - Eurogamer: Zelda: Breath of the Wild to miss Nintendo Switch launch

I guess its true then.... sigh.......

Nintendo better have some fuck shit at launch!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Having a Mario at launch is not gonna have as big an impact as having a Zelda at launch. Most people already take the Mario franchise for granted.

As long as there are some new games, I won't really complain with a May release

Agreed. If they launch in March with Mario and hammer home Zelda in May, that would be an impressive launch window that wouldn't destroy sales for either title. Then the question becomes... what is the Holiday title if they've already got new Mario and Zelda games out of the gate?

Surely neither the remasters nor Pikmin are big enough for a headliner? Maybe there's a third party exclusive in store for us? Maybe another big first party game will be unveiled at E3?

Pokemon or Retros new game.

Exactly. It won't generate the same hype as BotW.

Quality has to be out of the world because of endless delay.

Thats the thing. It won't be better than any other solid third party game that made its deadline. Nintendo really needs to get their shit together. This is pathetic.

They delayed the game to port it to Switch, they delayed the Switch, and now they can't even make it to their late deadline? And on top of that, the Wii U version will probably be canceled. F-you Nintendo.

If it's delayed please don't push it to 2017 Christmas :(
A few extra months won't kill me but Christmas might

Imagine being a big fan of FFXV then. It was first revealed in 2006.

Ofc there were several FF games in the meantime to hold you over though.

Technically, Final Fantasy XV has only been delayed once, when they gave the september date and then moved it to november. Before that, FFXV never had a release date so it couldn't be delayed...

Zelda has only had two delays. But of course, people choose to be irrational and talk about "endless delays"

Yup. Anyone believing this is fine needs to read a lot more about this game and not be just a Nintendo apologist

This game has become one big joke.

343i were able to deliver Halo 5 three years after Halo 4. Sucker Punch were able to deliver Infamous Second Son three years after Infamous 2. Guerilla were able to deliver Killzone Shadowfall two years after Killzone 3. DICE were able to deliver BF4 two years after BF3, and BF1 three years after that. CD Projekt Red were able to deliver Witcher 3 four years after Witcher 2. Even the delayed Uncharted 4 still took less than five years to arrive after Uncharted 3. The list goes on. These were big AAA games that represented their developer's debut on current gen hardware, yet they still got them done in a timely manner.

That a game that was supposed to come out in 2015 may not make it out by March 2017 is just shameful.

But Nintendo is saving us from a rushed game! Afyer 5 years!

Any game with less than a 100 year dev cycle is rushed.
