Didn't you get it now ? Digital Foundry director, Mr Leadbetter is a MS supporter since forever and is currently doing a very efficient negative PR campaign against the Pro.

Almost all their articles are focusing on a few games that have occasional problems on Pro while mostly ignoring the majority of good stuff from the Pro, or very vaguely talking about it, like a vague remark in one or 2 articles, here I am talking about performance.

When XB1s was released they immediately talked about a few games, notably project cars, and the ~5fps improvement , like if all XB1s games had this improvement. And now their only framerate videos and articles are from only a few games that exhibit occasionally framerate drops on Pro.

But if the Pro was a MS console they would have only shown the improvements from games like COD Infinite Warfare, BF1, titanfall 2, Dishonored 2 and more that we know run better on Pro thanks to NX gamer and VG tech. We would have gotten tons of positive framerate videos about those games (probably compared to their PS4 versions no doubt about it) like we got tons of video about the good stuff about the XB1s (even if Project Cars in fact the only game that had that much improvement).

When AC Unity was released. they did plenty of articles showing how well it ran compared to the PS4 game, and that 2 weeks before the release of the game. When they first saw Infinite warfare on Pro well before the release of game, they immediately did a framerate video about how bad it ran on Pro. Now that the game runs great on Pro and PS4, where is their article about it?

Where is their face-off showing bad performance on XB1 (as NX gamer and VG tech already showed us) compared to great stuff on PS4 / Pro ? Well they are delaying it because it shows a bad image of Microsoft Hardware and COD is still the most important game of the holiday. Btu they clearly didn't delay their BF1 face-off showing better framerate on XB1 (well 2fps better on average on conquest according to VG tech but they talked about sometimes 10fps higher on XB1, what a bullshit. DF usually don't tell us the average numbers except when it gives a good image of a XB1 game).

They'll certainly never tell the world that BF1 runs on average 6fps better on Pro than on XB1 on the Conquest modes...

this post gave me a chuckle**.   you cannot be serious with this.

Tell me, where am I wrong here ? Specifically ?

What I don't like about Digital Foundry:

I guess they have to justify their existence but they say things like "We don't see any artifacts", "I don't see any dips in frame rate", "It looks beautiful. I think it's in 4k"

But then they have to break out their hardware to look at it see it's lost 2 frames here. May be slightly short when it comes to resolution. If we players can't see any shortcomings with our naked eye, isn't that good enough? I know at the end, they said it doesn't matter but that's not going to stop them from finding flaws when there really isn't anything to complain about.

Well, too be fair, it is kinda their job.

If anything, they're just playing damage control at the beginning by pointing out there is no noticeable loss and that you would only notice gains.

Ssssshhhhh! Remove this article! Everybody knows Pro sucks and released too early lmao!!!

This doesn't suit that narrative.

Looking forward to my second run through this game on the Pro.

Definitely a looker but I'm not sure I'd want to play it again just because of that.

Well, there is a sort of New Game+ mode, so you can get all your weapons leveled & finish collecting the cards.

Looks good. Waiting on a dirt cheap sale to pick up for PS4.

Yeah, that stuck out to me too. 'It looks perfectly fine to my human senses' but 'let's wait to see if the machine thinks it's not'.

What the flying fuck has gaming come to? This hobby used to be fun.

Its what happened when console makers insisted that power makes the machine and not the games. Sony was guilty of this too. During the launch of the X1 and PS4 all we'd hear about is how crappy the Xbox One was because it didn't have GDDR5 and that PS4 is the most powerful console in the history of the world. I still remember the pulled Sony ad where they declared Watchdogs 1080p and 60 fps.

Plus that technical sounding terms make average folk feel smart so they tend to go with the higher numbers.

Advertising a power advantage goes back to the very beginning of consoles.  Anyone who has ever had a graphical advantage has played it up, including Nintendo ("Now You're Playing With Power").  I remember an SNES ad talking about their "amazing graphics" because of 16-bit custom chips.  Having a graphical advantage was the basis of Intellivision's attack on Atari.  I have no idea why people act like this is something recent.

Looks good. I think Gamestop will have a BF deal on this one.

Nothing wrong with that. But this isn't one company attacking another. This is a separate entity that specializes in pointing out flaws in everything! And there's only one version of Ratchet and Clank. It's running better on this hardware. That should be good enough.

And I love ya, CGI but I don't see how commenting on an almost verbatim direct quote from the video in the OP can be seen as going off topic. As long as don't turn it into a "console wars" type scenario, everything should be fine. Right?

Well... That is what you would go to DF for... Of you dont think stuff like that matters, you shouldnt watch df videos to begin with. The entire reason anyone watches DF videos is for the technical analysis, not "its good enough" analysis...

I dont get y people continue to have an issue with this. If people dont like technical data, just ignore it and dont watch it... There are plenty of review sites who will tell you its good enough so just go to those people dont like it... Cause many of us do like the technical analysis and that is why I m subscribed to them.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I'm really glad I waited off on buying a PS4 and this game. In fact, R&C will be on sale for $15 on Black Friday. I just hope there isn't any issues running this game on a PS4 Pro to a 1080P tv as reported with other titles.
