Resident Evil 7 Collector's Edition revealed, but doesn't include the game

GameStop Italy has leaked a Collector’s Edition of the upcoming Resident Evil 7: biohazard, featuring a wealth of physical goodies but oddly enough, not the actual game itself.

According to the retailer’s listing, the Resident Evil 7 Collector’s Edition includes a 16GB USB memory stick in the shape of the infamous dummy finger from the Resident Evil 7 demo, a 20th anniversary art book, 5 Lithographs, a model replica of the Baker family house seen in the game, and 3 alternate covers, plus exclusive in-game DLC.

The bundle will set you back €99.98, though there is an option to bundle the game with it too, which will increase the price to €150.96. Right now, it looks as if the Collector’s Edition is exclusive to Europe, although there’s a chance Capcom may confirm something for North American gamers too.

Either way, GameStop is offering a Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil 7 in the U.S., which includes the game plus a range of in-game bonuses.

With the house model coming to the collectors seems like the house is a huge focus on the game. Is the game just based inside the house? I'm trying to be opening about this game but every new detail just makes me go one step back.

..and you get a DLC for the game, but not the actual game -_- . I find collectors editions that doesn't include the game is just stupid.

When it comes with a game, you're limiting your audience to one system. You also can only sell them to people who don't have the game. This may not seem like a problem, but it becomes one when its 3 months after launch, and you can't sell them because anyone who is a fan of the game has it.

This way, you can sell it to someone regardless of which console they own, and if someone really loves the game, they could get the collectors edition stuff later on. It's a better system actually.

well at least capcom doesnt offer any other CE and doesnt includes the Steelbook like we have seen in B1s No game Edition

That's a good explanation of... this. One caveat - how would DLC work? Get keys for all three platforms? Get master key, select platform with Capcom, get key?

Great for people who wants to sit and look at a model of a house. Silly stuff indeed.

I don't know exactly. I stopped working retail before this became a thing. But, a lot of times with DLC, the codes weren't in the box. The retailer would take your email address, and they would email the code to you. So, that could be the case, and you could tell them which console at the register. Also, it could be that you have to register the game with Capcom, and they'll email you the code. I'd guess it's one of those two things.

I like these collectors because I can still buy the digital version and be sure to have it day one.
Won't be getting this one though. PSVR + the game should be enough spending that month.

Whaa? Who ever heard of a collectors edition without the ******* game? Seems kinda important.

You are aware you can still buy the game right? This way you can buy the game later, digital, or used.

Of cousre I am. But this is not a collectors edition. This is the Resident Evil Playset. Yeah there is the option to bundle with the game, or buy seperately, but it's an odd duck because it's never been done this way before.
