Hopefully he at least greatly limits it, thats why he was voted in. Banning is great overkill, but cutting to 10% of what it currently is makes ense.

What percent of them work in customer service and don't smile when you enter? What percent of them avoid mingling with nativce Germans? I dont want to import any of that.

Well considering the US population is about 300 million, it has only recieved about 3.5k syrian refugees to date, not really doing much as it is, 10% of that would be 350 people, considering it's the US that has supported the break down of Syria that is a pitiful help of it's people

My take: It's not obviously wrong. There is no direct evidence to say banning muslims would be a bad idea.

2) Will enough republicans step up to stop him

My take: Not on this issue. This is the racist party. They won't say they will do this for racist reasons, but that's ultimately what their intent is. Worst case scenario for Trump and all of us is that they agree to do this if Trump signs off on some ultra conservative policy we don't want. Like maybe keeping the TPP.

Since when is Islam a race?

He asked about Germany and their 4.3 million Muslim population, or did you miss that? The French have about 4.7 million muslims, almost all (99.999%) dont cause a religious crime (2.6 million in the US)
