41 – SimCity 2000

Sim City is to simulation games what Super Mario Bros is to side-scroller platformers: it didn’t invent the genre, but refined it enough to make it a success and set the foundations that define nowadays the genre. In that sense, SimCity 2000 is the equivalent of Super Mario Bros 3: it departs form the basics of it’s more rudimentary predecessor and evolved them to the next level, increasing its scope and appeal (Although SimCity 2000 is a probably a deeper evolution from the original than SMB3 from SMB). The result is hours of creating your own city, providing energy to your neighbors, avoiding the industrial decline of your city or fighting a terrible monster. A mayor’s life is though!

Reminder of #40 and a new hint:

#40: Last entry of a series that in Japan and the West is known by the name of the first console were the series was released (in each territory). Of course the name of the series is different in Japan and in the West. Also, the name of this particular entry is different in NCTS and PAL territories.
+ This entry is considerable darker than previous ones.

#39 This game title makes a play on words with the name of its main character. A direct sequel was released (almost exactly, in the West) three years ago.

Did you play 2? It's also a great game.
Most of them are, anyway.

Played them all~! They're all so great!!!

...Well, most of them. Playing the handheld ones is kinda hard to do.

Cities Skylines as guessed by Ka-pi96

A city builder in the vein of the SimCity series, but it follows that series values more than the actual SimCity games do nowadays. It's a realistic game focussing on building a workable city where people are happy to live and if possible make it as pretty as possible. Due to the innovative engine the player is able to build basically every type of city they want and things are build able in any rotation.

For a long time I thought there would never again be a worthy successor the great SimCity games, the old ones. I had given up hope when after a dreadful Simcity Societies SimCity 2013 was also butchered, until this game peaked over the horizon. One would almost think the developers were rubbing it in Maxis and EA's faces when announcing 'Cities: Skylines'; a game that the community actually wanted. Hopes were made real, when this game actually turned out good.

The downside, if you want to call it that, is that it takes a long time to build grand cities. Epecially when the large amounts of mods come into play. There's thousands of user-created buildings, maps, infrastructure and gameplay tweaks to download and try. One of these days though, like I did with every SimCity, I'll make my 'Cities: Skylines' "magnum-opus".

#40: From garbage processing to the cathedral, it's a long way...

#41 - Though it is not the first game in this jump and shoot platformer series, it was the one that really put it on the map.
#40 - In this one, instead of finding stuff, you rent it. (I might be willing to do an extra hint for this one )

#40. The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds?

Super Mario 3D World

Yeah, so easy

#44 Game Description: This sequel follows it's predecessor by having a touch based story mode where you play mini games revolving a specific item to get coins and accessories. It's other mode is a more widely recognized and despite being newer, it can still pair up with any past game on the this system for multiplayer goodness. Created by a company that went bankrupt and was acquired by a big company

Game hint: Oversized heads and hands with lots of explosions!

--

#41 Game Description: A franchise that stayed in Japan until this game released internationally. This series has seen it's ups and downs but is currently riding high on the most recent games

Game hint: Game doesn't truly start till hard mode :p
