Hint 42: You play as 1 character with 3 transformations (and a special 4th one) in this "sequel" for a long running series.

#41. This game introduced the charge.

Crud, I lost track of this thread.

Hint for #43:

A high-profile 2017 game looks to return to its roots by emulating this series-starter.

Hint for #42:

Time for my hint for the day~~

41 - So, this is a cute puzzle game similar to other games like tetris, columns and tetris attack, featuring a cute girl in white and blue, battling other cute monsters. Though it kept getting changed overseas, perhaps due to its cute appearance not selling well. So the 1st game released used a famous mascot to sell it.

Alone in the Dark?

The 2017 game in question is due to arrive on two systems...at least for now.

#42 Heroes of Might and Magic III (AKA, the one that nobody guessed somehow)

The best game in the long running strategy-game series and easily one of my favourite games in the genre. HoMM III is an the kind of game where you'll tell yourself "just one more turn", and soon find out it's three in the morning. Every faction in the game is fun and unique, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The computer does tend to cheat a bit at times though. I still remember once getting surprised by an army of 3000 ancient behemoths just 3 months into a match, basically destroying any chance of victory on that particular instance.

Now, here's the hint for #41:

A platformer on the PS1 starring a genetically modified marsupial. Features time travel as the central gimmick.
