Super Mario 64 Ds?

Nah that would be included with the regular 64 lol.

Alright I'll give a second hint, even though there's got to be plenty of people that know this. Maybe my first hint throws them off lol;

#1: L is Real 2401

Hint 2: This was a hefty rumour for Super Mario 64 (#3) concerning Luigi being present in that game. It was probably a conincidence because of a blurry texture, but afterwards Nintendo added fuel to the fire by inexplicably reusing this texture of a sign, somewhere else.

Before I talk about my #1 game, here's a quick breakdown of the games on my list by release decade and platform:

Decades:

  • 1980s: 2 games 1990s: 12 games 2000s: 24 games 2010s: 12 games

 Nintendo platforms:

  • NES: 3 games SNES: 2 games N64: 1 game GC: 2 games Wii: 1 game
Sony platforms:
  • PS1: 6 games PS2: 13 games PS3: 13 games
Other platforms:
  • PC: 9 games

#1 Final Fantasy IX

Without a shadow of a doubt the greatest game I have ever played, and likely will ever play. No other game has ever left such a lasting impression on me. When the only real complaint I have about the game that it is slightly too easy, means its a masterpiece with no equal in my eyes. In my opinion there is no such thing as a perfect game, but Final Fantasy IX is as close as to that as a game can be. I recently wrote a lengthy article on Final Fantasy IX, so if you want to know more go ahead and check it out.

It has to be Ocarina of Time (I haven't seen it in your list nor honor mentions, although you have almost any Zelda there (probably even faces of evil), and it used the same engine than SM64, so it's probable that they inserted it there). If not, I desist

No need, you are correct! The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is my #1, and probably always will be.

And I was mean with the hint, hehe, my plan all along. Well, since the Mario 64 hint anyway. Signs all use a certain texture in Ocarina of Time, except for one in the Dodongo's Cavern, which for some reason has it's own; the same one from Mario 64.

#1. Get equipped with this amazing game.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

#2 - Pokemon SoulSilver

Crystal used to be my favourite, but the Gen 2 remakes are pretty much Crystal + Gold/Silver + more. Simply put, the Johto region and its content were always the best, but the remakes managed to make it even better.

Gen 2 stands out for 2 reasons: it tries to be open world, and it offers the best post-game content (including the 2nd adventure).

The open worldness is simple. After you beat the 3rd gym and enter Ecruteak city, you can go anywhere. The main problem is it sacrifices challenge from trainers and Team Rocket, but I think it was fine. Giving players freedom is always good. Then it goes back to linearity from Gym 7 until E4. And here's where it gets good.

A 2nd region. Kanto, of all regions. You get 8 more gyms, a remixed OST, and another adventure up to Mt. Silver, which has one of the best final bosses ever.

But HG/SS don't stop there. There's also many legendaries to catch, Pokeathlon (the best side mode in Pokemon), new areas (Pokemon Safari), you can battle every gym leader again, get 1 starter from each gen, meet characters from other regions. And while it may be just aesthetic, walking Pokemon is the best. It improves the player-to-Pokemon relationship.

Beautiful graphics, amazing soundtrack, great cast and plot, some of the best Pokemon, semi-open world, challenging, freaking Red; in my humble opinion, this is the perfect Pokemon game.
