Wait, not a single asian country has legalized gay-marriage at this point?

Which country do you think would? Indians/Hindus are just as homophobic and destructive towards gay-marriage concept as the middle east. Russia and former Russian States are also known for being very anti-gay. South East Asia seem to hold distinctive Hinduism and Islamic moderate beliefs but not really moderate or progressive enough to allow it.

Really the only culture left are East Asia (China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Mongolia).

Don't know but I somehow expected at least Japan to legalize gay-marriage as I think they are the most progressing asian country regarding technology/science. Sad to hear such a big part of the world is still homophobic. 

I remember Tachikoma saying that for Japan, the people aren't necessarily against gay marriage. It's just that there isn't a lot of demand for it to be legalized.

The only three that I think it would remotely be possible is Japan, Taiwan and Korea, however remember gay marriage concept is relatively new in terms of government agenda/policy around the world. Barely over a decade since the first couple of countries allowed it.

Not surprising as there are less children, less marriages, and less collectivist life choices in the country.
