It's interesting that he mention the modern style of ffxv, could mean that ffxvi (that sure is already in developement) could be maybe be go in the direction like ff ix

FFX-3 would have been a Rikku story, it was also hinted in FFX-2,
The novella also totally destroyed FFX universe, Yuna who basically leave Tidus behind because she is now the mature 19 year old girl while he came back like the 17 year old from FFX, also a lot of typical anime ecchi stuff as dick/breast jokes. you can summarise it basically like a Fanfiction written down by a 14 yeard old puber.

If they make a FFX-3 based on the awful FFX-2.5 audio drama and novella then burn it in hell.

Agreed, I've had the feeling in the back of my mind that they would end up making Agni's Philosophy as FFXVI
