holiday 2015 ps4 outsold xbox one by 1.17:1
lifetime to date, the original ps4 outsold the original xbox one by 1.15:1

since the release of Xbox One S, Xbox outsold Ps4 by 1.35:1

If we assume the salesgap between Xbox One S and Ps4 Slim stays the same;
Sony needs to sell 1 Ps4 Pro for every 2.5 Xbox One sold this holiday season to keep the gap at 1.15:1 in their favour
Sony needs to sell 1 Ps4 Pro for every 3.75 Xbox One sold for parity

but it's even more likely, that the salesgap between Xbox One S and Ps4 Slim will increase even further this holiday, thanks to the incredible deals and value Microsoft is offering this year, compared to last year and compared to Sonys weak showing (no CoD Bundle. no Battlefront Bundle. no Ps4 Pro deals for Black Friday at all)

if the salesgap between Xbox One S and Ps4 Slim increase to 1.5:1 this holiday season (just a 0.15 increase over the current rating)
Sony needs to sell 1 Ps4 Pro for every 2 Xbox One sold this holiday Season to keep the 1.15:1 advantage over Microsoft

It is possible, that Ps4 Pro and Slim combined will outsell Xbox One this holiday season, but it's even more likely that Xbox will outsoll Ps4
It is unlikely, that Ps4 will outsell by the same margin, they did last year or LTD over the last 3 years in the US

 

 

my estimate: the ps4 Pro will sell below 500k units in November. i just don't see them doing a (way) bigger numbers

The Xbox One outsold the PS4 in a month that is less than 20% of the total sales. Winning by 30% in a month that is less than 20% of the year isn't enough. If Sony outsells it by 15% would be enough.

 

There is no reason to split Pro, Slim and original PS4 numbers. Not even Sony will split that, we won't know the results, and them will probably sell between 1.5-2 millions of PS4 on November.

Microsoft always does very well on Black Friday. All Microsoft needs to do is make xbox one cheaper and the Pro won't do that much at all.

I agree Ms does always do very well on BF and those deals are always good. But I have to ask because this is my second time seeing someone say this.....why are some people only focusing on the Pro like Sony doesn't have the slim along with BF deals as well that are just as good as the ones MS is offering. Are you not counting the PS4 BF deals? We have pretty much seen the BF deals and the PS4 and XB1 are neck and neck. I personally think both will do VERY well this month but I still feel the PS4 will take NPD for Nov but December is up for grabs.

PS4 won last year on Black Friday. It's pretty much a toss up this year. However, PS4 has the edge with the Pro.

yes, after the Ps4 Pro launch numbers in UK this is pretty much a given.

xbox one was 40% ahead of ps4 in october. and now on the big launch week with several weeks of preorder the ps4 is also only 40% ahead of xbox one.
next week should be about the same for both and black fiday week xbox one will have a good lead again.

and this is UK numbers, where you could get a game with your ps4 pro for just 19 quid more and playstation in general is stronger
in the us, there will be no deals for the ps4 pro from any big retailers.


the only holiday season ps4 won, was last year, thanks to the 2 biggest games being bundled. star wars and call of duty. this year sony has only uncharted 4 a 1 year old game. now microsoft has the biggest games in battlefield 1, gears 4 and minecraft bundled.
the ps4 last year was also $100 cheaper for the first time ever. before mid october 2015 you had to pay $399 or even more for a ps4. $100 is a huge pricecut and difference.
this year? ps4 is $299 since september. and black friday will be just $50 less

 

 

ps4 will sell about 1.35m this november in the us
xbox will sell about 1.6m this november in the us
