The Pro is the #2 best selling console for 2016 on Amazon right now. #52 while the cloesest XB1 console, Gears Ultimate bundle is at #79. Not only will Sony win November NPD, they'll likely increase their US lead more than it was before XB1 started it's NPD win streak.

Have you guys learned nothing of amazon reliability during the holidays? especially with in game store deals going on everyday?

Comment like this right now makes me chuckle..easy grasshoppers.  Amazon is not too reliable as of late because of all the discounted prices going on.

I think Amazon has been correct the past 3 holidays, as its only been wrong these past two months. And Oct was either because a glitch in the system in tracking the most popular XBO SKU or MS never delivered them more stock. Either way, it's still above 90% accuracy since the beginning of this gen, if my memory serves me correctly, so we'll have to wait to see if it corrects itself. We know it will be accurate this month, as the PS4 has it on lock, thanks to the Pro. And both MS and Sony are doing a $249 BF Bundle, so no advantage for MS there.

Then please offer your own analysis and explantion as to what is occuring here with the sustained turnaround (4 months straight and even against the beloved almighty PSVR release).. Love to hear it! remember...This was not supposed to happen according to many of you..

Okay easily, in June Microsoft officially revealed xb1S at E3, slated for a staggered early/late August release depending on the SKU. They did not win June.

In July, they put all Og Xbox consoles on firesale across the US, the U.K. And other main territories to make shelf space for the new slim and to deplete old stock. http://technewsdir.com/updated-the-best-xbox-one-deals-in-july-2016 They won July by offering deals like "xb1 500gb, gears of war ultimate edition, extra free controller, and a Ubisoft game of your choice for $250". There were many other similar deals but the point is that they significantly dropped the cost of entry during July.

At the beginning of August, the 2tb slim released. The last week of August, the rest of the slim SKUs released. By staggering the release like this, Microsoft ensured a victory in August which is a slow month anyway, and the effect bled through to September since the cheapest slim had only come out a week prior to this month. Forza horizon 3 came out at the end of September, and in October we have gears of war. Keep in mind that since July, the Og Xbox has been on firesale for $250 this whole time. So not only do we have the new arrival of the slim, but we have constant fire sales of OG Xbox going on in the background coupled with console movers like Gears of War. The way all of this is timed makes me think that Spencer is trying to eek out a few consecutive victories to try and change the mindshare for Americans. I already know it won't work,  as despite all of the tactics Ms has used they are only barely winning in their primary territory these past few months while Sony has sat idly by focusing instead on PSVR and now the Pro. My analysis is that Ms will lose the rest of the year, based on recent product launches, future prospects for exclusives, historical precedence and of course the fact that this is a modern console competing against a 1.3tf cable box.

Spot on. You may also want to point out that the PS4 numbers were depleted during those months because of people waiting or preordering the Pro.

I will just leave this quote from LivingMetal as it is clearly relevant here.

"If you continue to be so angry over nothing, might I suggest that you find a new hobby. It looks like gaming isn't giving you enough joy to see past something so ultimately meaningless."

Don't bother with people who clearly have an agenda Lib.

Ironic detector just exploded!!!! You're worse than "Lib" for talking shit!!

What's this aganda you speak of?

Can you honestly agree with "Lib"?

Xbox had a great month and I think that it beat PS4 a big margin (Lets's say 75k-100k). Honestly I didn't expect the XB1 to win the last for months but I also think people are jumping to conclusuon way too early.

Let's get this thread back on track please. Several posts over the last few hours have been far too personal.

Thank you.

Sony seems to keep screwing up the last quarter with the constant delays of their big titles. MS taking good advantage.

Tell me about it. Gravity Rush 2 has gone gold, but I have to wait until January to get it -_-

Thank you that is much better. I think however you have really underplayed the effect of the xbox one slim and its advantage over the ps4 slim at exactly the same price.  And like I sais before the slim versions of both companies will outsell the pro versions over the longer term (past this holliday pro launch). Simply Sony dropped the ball by not adding any value to the slim version at all compared to the previous version. xbox one slim one the other hand......said it all before. Sony need to do somehing here as this is one of their only profit generating business these days.  Historical context really wont have any relevance here. The One Slim was a master move.

Just as I predicted a xbox win for October. I am going all in and giving xbox November and December, the deals going around are to good to miss out on.

gravity rush 2 will not have done much, it's a niche game.

Quite a surprise to me. I thought PSVR would help PlayStation take the month. Now I am less sure about the Pro. Even though it has sold well on Amazon, it seems Amazon has lost its edge in being able to tell how the market is moving.

It will be very interesting to see how this plays out. I have said in the past that the Universal Windows Platform would be massive for Xbox, and if they continue to hold on, then I think that is a huge reason behind the push. I know Gears and Forza just came out, but I have not seen any indication tat they are moving hardware, escpeciallly considering the lackluster sales they have had compaired to previous entries. I think the era of the Xbox replacing PC's is happening, and that is a good thing on the mass market side.

If UWP is spear heading this XBO resergence, then Sony needs to get on the ball, and start letting a braoder spectrum of apps into the PlayStation ecosystem. They have talked about wanting to use PSVR to turn consoles into the smart device of the home, nw they need to back up those claims.

UWP? the casuals don't care for buzz words and stuff that does not concern the average consumer. Xbox is besting playstation because of the value factor. You can get a slimmer xbox, with ea access (loads of games straight of the bat) and several games for 299. The xbox comes with a 4k drive and hdr. Then you have the ps4 slim for the same price offering you no value.
