Got up bright and early yesterday because I had to drop my wife off at work at 5AM. So then I swing by the local Best Buy (which opens at 10am). No line. So I drive home, grab some breakfast, a book, and my Vita, and I head to the Best Buy parking lot to sit in my car, with the intention of getting in line as soon as I see other people. So, nearing 7AM, I see that the Walmart down the street opens at 7. I drove over there and got in line. They only had 14 units, and I was about 25th in line, so I drove back to the best buy, and saw there was a line started, so I got in line and proceeded to wait for about almost 3 hours. I was 9th in line. It was a little chilly, but it's always fun hanging out in line with others at a console launch, even though this thing isn't really new.
Turns out Best Buy ended up with about 30 consoles, so I got it, went home, took a big ole nap, and then started playing. I did my obligatory run through Double Dragon 2 to warm my fingers up, and then spent the rest of the afternoon playing various games until I had to go pick up my wife again.
I'm really digging the CRT filter. Much better than the filters I've seen on any of my PC emulators.
No. Onwards and upwards. Too many new games that I want to play. Certainly not buying a piece of hardware for the privilege of revisiting a sampling of 25-30 year old games. That's what digital downloads are for. The kitsch/cool factor of the unit itself does nothing for me, and that's essentially the only reason it exists.

The concept is cool, but I've already played all those games.
