Forums - Sony - 60% of GamePro users choose Metal Gear 4 as top PS3 game

We asked and you responded: the most anticipated PS3 title this year has been revealed.

You like me, you really like me!

GamePro readers have spoken: the most eagerly anticipated PS3 title this year is none other than Metal Gear Solid 4.

The news might be unsurprising to some, given the amount of hype and anticipation surrounding this upcoming system seller, but what is slightly surprising is just how much of a win MSG4 achieved over other highly anticipated PS3 IP in GamePro's most recent readership poll.

The Hideo Kojima title pulled in 57.7% of the vote, a full 46.4% higher than second place finisher (and recently revealed Spring 2009 release) Gran Turismo 5. Rounding out the third and fourth slots on the podium were a pair of sequels in Resistance 2 (12%) and Killzone 2 (11.7%), respectively.

Finally, the quirky roll your own adventure LittleBigPlanet secured the fifth slot with 7.3% of the vote.

What do you think? Do the results stink? Should LittleBigPlanet have had, well, a bigger showing? Would GT5 have pulled in more votes if it weren't coming out sooner? Comment away.

Not suprising tbh. Can't wait for this.

I'm not suprised, many people are more exited about this then GTA4... where I live anyway.

(lol, the pic is from SSBB!)

Guitar Hero 3/ Smash Hits

Polls are stupid because they imply that MGS4 is desired by 60% of the poll takers but GT isn't, simply because you have to vote for one game.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I'm glad Snake takes the top spot, but I figured KZ2, LBP, and Resistance would've faired much better. I guess they'll still do well, but MGS4 will rule 2008 on the PS3.

So only exclusive where up for voting?

I'm not that surprised with LBP's lackluster showing. People keep saying how LBP will help get the casual gamers to the PS3 and help get more mass appeal but those aren't the type of gamers that go to gametrailers. I would have figured KZ2 would have fared better but I guess the hype has been quite lately and it'll probably jumpstart again right before launch.

I'll take Little Big Planet instead.

LBP for me.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

Not surprised, all PS3 owners seem to be desperate for this game.
