That statement is just straight up false.

And yeah I'm sure games being exclusive is the reason for Sony's mod policy. lol

I laugh every time.

Lmao, make FF exclusive again. Hilariously silly.

80/20

By pulling the ratio right out of my ass, I'm getting 8:2. I should probably look into how other multiplatform games, especially similar ones, have done previously, but it's almost 6 am and I should go to be (plus I don't really care too much about the accuracy of my prediction).

It's going to largely depend on how well the XB1 version sells. If it doesn't sell a whole lot, then Square will have to evaluate whether it is more profitable spending time and resources on making an XB1 version or on their other projects so that those games release sooner.

PS has a bigger share of the market than it did with FF13. So it seems almost definite the percentage will be bigger. Probably 85% I'd say. Could be higher though. Depends how much they end up capturing that action audience on the Xbox. They might end up failing and just get the RPG fans.

As long as they bring in profit, then it doesn't matter if one sells more than the other. But I agree with what you said.

So do I haha.  there are examples of it being bad but there are examples of it being good too.

It is, because namely, it leads to lack of competition which was what allowed Sony to say no to mods. Desperation seems like the best tool to obtain what you want and the more reasons Sony has to offer me more of what I want the better...

"At Gamescom, I had a change to ask Director Hajime Tabata how his “quest” for 1080p and 30 stable frames per second is proceeding."

"If we were gonna make it just for a single platform, and really optimize the game structure and the technology for the platform, it would be very possible to do that.

But because we have to work on that as a multiplatform game, I still can’t quite guarantee that we’ll definitely be able to make that on all platforms."

In essence if 15 was exclusive to ps4 they would know better how to optimize the game and the structure. Leading to a better game. I would certainly call that a good thing.

Oh yeah, not to mention the amount of sway which would inevitably lead to the same mistakes MS made at the start of this gen, but we are halfway through the generation. Need I point out how the PS4 lacked external HD support?

Not to mention, the revenue.

No, not everyone will buy a PS4 for one game. Or are you telling me if I dislike Sony I don't deserve the game?

I didn't say it'd run better.

Because of expectations (announced as an exclusive) and because the reception was pretty terrible...

Now, illuminate me as to why exclusivism is a good thing (right now, anything that hurts Microsoft's competition can only represent a gain. Sony has acted cocky recently and they need to be dragged in the mud to show them their place) and show everyone where I said the game will run better on the Xbox One...

The conversation you jumped into was revolving around the claim that FFXV would run better on XB1 because the PS4 would overheat.

Exclusives give value to the platforms they appear on. If not for exclusives, one would just pick the toughest platform and call it a day. Instead, exclusive titles and features make up a large portion of the platform's inherent value over others. And as far as I'm aware, Sony hasn't acted "cocky", they opted for a cost-efficient mid-gen refresh over a nearly-next-gen refresh. The only company acting cocky is Microsoft with their constant bashing on Twitter (you can deny it because it's always vague, but that would be like denying the 2016 presidential candidates are a complete crapshoot). The last time Sony did anything like that was E3 2013, and that was to combat a horrible, awful idea that Microsoft had (DRM in consoles).

The conversation I jumped in was arguing the Xbox One will not overheat when running the game.

Seriously, nowhere did I say the damn thing would run better.

Really, I am still remembering how they were among the people who rejected localizing DOAX3, how they still have a policy of obstructing VN releases and how they still refuse to allow full mod support on their console for F4 and Skyrim (yeah, it was good enough, but I want my external assets on console!)

The awful idea came for this very reason. People are in the lead and they get cocky. Sony's no different from MS and anyone who believes otherwise, is a fool...

It doesn't lead to a lack of competition, Microsoft has just found themselves unable to compete because they started this generation by sawing a leg off. The only cause for the lack of competition is Microsoft's willingness to back out.

The mistake they made because they thought they could get away with it. I don't want Sony to think they can get away with anything. Last time they did, we had the rootkit fiasco.

MS never backed out. They are fighting the good fight, especially with Scorpio.

Lol.  the ps2 was my favourite gen.  Ps4 second favourite so far.  that domination obviously does something right.

Because of the huge library you might have been able to see everywhere else had this exclusivity bullshit not caught on. Are you for the gamers or for the brand?

Sorry, but if the company won't cover everything, then they don't deserve the damn price.

Apparently, they forget this specific Final Fantasy looks more like something Bethesda would make than an actual FF game...

Quandry: I want a very popular, very AAA Japanese game and don't want to play it on Steam, Nintendo or Sony. What choice do I have?

This is how awful you all sound...

80-90 on PS4, 20-10 on One.

That's just stupid. It's like saying "if we could sell the game at 120 bucks we could hire more people and put more time into optimizing. Therefore it's the consumer's fault that the game isn't optimized enough".

How can people support this bullshit? If the game runs like shit it's no one's fault but the developer's. It was their decision to make the game what it is. It takes no effort to make it run stable but they decided framerate isn't as important as visuals. It was their decision to make it run like shit.
