I think you're a little confused my friend, the screen on the switch is 720p, but the internal/native resolution of the game could be 1080p and run at 1080p on the tv. Just like smash runs at 1080p on the tv and 480p on the gamepad. Now let me ask you, two games that run at 60fps and 720p on the wii u, why would they run like that on the switch when the switch is a lot more powerful than the wiiu? I know that you're being negative and all that but sometimes logic is the answer.

But its not running both screens at the same time. Unless it has a legit TV mode (which is not confirmed. Nintendo said the dock is a TV out and charger) It would be easier for Nintendo to go with the same resolution across both. I doubt Nintendo is dynamically doing this and I doubt that its running the game at 1080p. It might be a drain on the battery.

What if the console has enough power to output 1080p 60fps, but does not on the screen in order to save battery life? When it is plugged into the dock, it is always charging so it will be able to keep a high battery life while running 1080p. What if its a case of downscaling to the screen, not upscaling from the screen?

how do you know the games are running at 720p?

Because it is using a 720p screen. But you're right. They could be 540p and upresolutioned to 720p.

Switch also runs on TVs with capabilities of 1080p.

You gave me another reason! now the game can run a lot better because it's not running on two screens at the same time! wii u games need to distribute the power of the system between the wii u and the gamepad, for example that's why star fox looks not so good, because the game is running on two different screens at 60fps. Now with splatoon and mario kart, we don't have a second screen, so the games use less resources than the wii u version on a system that is more powerful, that means better visuals and better performance.

Marketing wise I could see them just call it Mario Kart Switch. Whilst Splatoon will be "reloaded" or something similarly tacky and befitting

Come on bro. You really think Nintendo is going to do this? They're not going to be pushing 1080p. They're not going to be doing downscaling, downsampling or anything like that. You paid for 720p and you're getting 720p. There will be no magic that will make their games higher resolution. Nintendo Power is a oxymoron and we should just come to accept it. Those same rumor people are saying that 540p and upscaling to 720p is a real thing.

They kind of did it with the Wii U. The gamepad was 480p and TV ranged from 720p to 1080p depending on the game so your argument is invalid.

dude, please. you don't need magic, you just need a hdmi cable connected to the dock. Ok, I'll just wait until the reveal and then I'll tell you "see, i told you so"

Both are 60 fps so I doubt we're going to see better performance. Better visuals are possible, but at their core they are still Wii U games. Don't expect miracles from a tablet. I'm just preparing you for disappointment. I used to have hope like you... I'm just trying to spare you a little pain

If you're going to take the rumour that the screen is 720p, you should take the equally reputable rumour from Laura Dale that the Switch performs better when docked.

The rumoured Switch GPU would render Mario Kart 8 at 1080p with ease whether docked or not.

They arnt remastered..... their just enhanced editions.

IDEK the difference tbh lol

enhanced edition = normal game with extra stuff added.

remastered = everything is done over, new texture work, higher quality on textures, newly recorded sound ect, that sort of thing.
