I think you're a little confused my friend, the screen on the switch is 720p, but the internal/native resolution of the game could be 1080p and run at 1080p on the tv. Just like smash runs at 1080p on the tv and 480p on the gamepad. Now let me ask you, two games that run at 60fps and 720p on the wii u, why would they run like that on the switch when the switch is a lot more powerful than the wiiu? I know that you're being negative and all that but sometimes logic is the answer.

But its not running both screens at the same time. Unless it has a legit TV mode (which is not confirmed. Nintendo said the dock is a TV out and charger) It would be easier for Nintendo to go with the same resolution across both. I doubt Nintendo is dynamically doing this and I doubt that its running the game at 1080p. It might be a drain on the battery.

What if the console has enough power to output 1080p 60fps, but does not on the screen in order to save battery life? When it is plugged into the dock, it is always charging so it will be able to keep a high battery life while running 1080p. What if its a case of downscaling to the screen, not upscaling from the screen?
