Forums - Gaming - Rumor: Mario Kart and Splatoon On The Switch Are Remasters!

So Emily Rogers has really taken to twitter today to discuss the Nintendo Switch’s potential launch lineup and she continues to do so. Emily mentions that the Mario Kart and Splatoon Switch versions are not just simple ports, but they are not new games either. Here are her tweets:

Okay, so yeah I know, we all already somewhat knew this, but her mentioning of there being new content is pretty weird. What can it possibly be? What can Nintendo add that does not differentiate the game too much from the Wii U version? Other than Battle Mode LMAO.

IDEK the difference tbh lol

Wouldn't surprise me. Releasing remasters of Wii U titles to flesh out the initial Switch library/give those games some more sales makes too much sense.

What if the game has better visuals too? enhanced remastered?

Gonna buy them... since I know they gonna be worth it... unlike other "remastered" versions..

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

They're not remasters. They're still 720p. Same as Wii U. Can you really say a game is remastered to 720p when it was 720p in the first place? I'd consider them to be remixes instead of remasters.

Oh and these expansions should work on Wii U too.
