Ever heard of Cultural Hegemony? There's my awnser.

What do you even believe in? Justin Trudeau to guide you to enlightnment?

Justin is not as good as he claims to be but I rather have him then a bunch of marxists and far left radicals.

For what reason? You enjoy living under an economic system that promotes unfair inequality? If it wasn't for those far left radicals, your Canadian welfare system wouldn't exist. You really think the Liberals would have handed it to you?

manged to create a country with 87% of the economic output of the USA with half of the people.

Half the people?  Which country would that be?

My bad, I switched some demographic numbers around. It should be "asbout as much people" as the USA. Much less spectacular, but I was wrong on this one.

It's the Soviet Union to be clear. (still kind of spectacular since they came from about 23% in the 1930's)

And you're trying to compare voting in an election to being a terrorist now? Come on, you're just overreacting about this.

I don't think he means you are literally a terrorist like bin Laden.  Have you ever heard the term "bomb-throwing" in the sense of taking a political stance that you just want to tear down the establishment at any cost?  He is saying that in the context of casting a vote a vote for Trump is a very destructive way to try to grab attention, trying to get your message across no matter the terrible cost.  (In fact, the bigger the mess is, the more you like it because of "sticking it to the man".)  I think the analogy to terrorism is a legitimate one from that perspective, although you can certainly disagree with his assessment of the consequences of electing Trump and your motivations for voting for him.

Edit: Please read previous clarifications in this thread.

Considering only liberals and conservatives were in power ever in Canada federally, who else did lol

Lol lol lol. If social security is really such a joke to you. A lot of social movements and unions fought for these benifits, they were not gifts of either the conservatives or the liberals. Politics is not just power from above, it's also power from below.

I'm ok with being friends with political differences. Not ok with being friends with racists.

Don't want to spend my time around people with negative/toxic views.

I've unfriended people for experiencing far right beliefs... Not real friends though; just Facebook friends. I already know my real fiends political alignments, but being my friends none are extreme far right, and I don't mind some political disagreements.

That said, Trump is pretty extreme and unpleasant. I'm not American but if I had a friend who through trump should be president... Well at first I'd assume they're joking... Then I'd try and reason with them... Then I'd unfriend them.

I don't need people in my life who are OK with, or have somehow rationalised, his bigotry and comments claiming to commit sexual assault.

I understand many of his supporters aren't truly extremists and are just looking for someone who isn't the status quo, and you could have a debate about whether he really is offering real change (I suspect he'll pretty much be like any other republican once in office), but if people can turn a blind eye to all the extremist stuff Trump's said then it does say something about their character.

And keeping social securities, fighting against idiotic free trade agreements. If anything Canadian unions aren't militant enough.
