Forums - Gaming - The most accomplished NES game?

The three that stand out to me the most, and are as great today as they were back then are: Super Mario Bros. 3, Kirby's Adventure and Tetris. Amazing games. I often see Zelda 1 and Metroid mentioned along the best for the system, but I really don't think they are very good if you play them today.

Uhm... define "accomplished"

Exactly.  Was really hoping for some clarification in the OP.

So many good titles, I'll go with Battletoads as one. Mario 3 is obvious and has no real need to even be stated :)

Gimmick! was pretty damn impressive for a NES game.

Duck Hunt is far and away still the best-selling light gun game and best-selling hunting game

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

The Guardian Legend.

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Look at Recca Summer Carnival ‘92 from 1992, a bullet hell shooter that seems do have more stuff in it than most SNES games.
