I'm not sure why DeNA would give a damn, they want money. Why would getting people to buy Nintendo's other products that don't involve them at all be a priority for them?

Because that's what Nintendo wants. If DeNA tries to pull off some bullshit, Nintendo won't allow them to use their IPs anymore. That would be a major loss for DeNA, hence why money as the motivation works against your argument.

DeNA trying to pull "bullshit" was never mentioned. All that was mentioned is that Nintendo's success in products that are unrelated to DeNA is not a priority for DeNA.

Like I said, DeNA is doing the Switch's OS and firmware.

Source? I would like to know where you got that info from.

What do you think "platform/account" holder means? Why do you think DeNA were on the list of third parties when they aren't providing software? Why would Nintendo establish a partnership with a mobile company when their original intent with them wasn't to make mobile games, but for their backend? Because they're providing firmware. DeNA were previously known for their Mobage platform. 2+2=4.

You asked why DeNA should give a damn about what Nintendo wants. Pulling off some bullshit stands for anything that is not in Nintendo's interests.

There's a difference between doing something against Nintendo's Interests, and Prioritizing Nintendo's success in areas unrelated to your own company.

How do we know they are not bringing software? The Switch is a tablet, they could always make versions of the Nintendo mobile apps to the Switch, as to ease mobile users into the Switch.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Jeez. I was just asking for a source. There was no need to get worked up over my question.

Thanks for letting me know, though.

You seem to believe that those are completely separate things, but they really aren't. Nintendo is in the much stronger position in this partnership because they provide the IPs that every mobile game maker would love to work with. Failure to fulfill Nintendo's goals can and will result in Nintendo looking for another partner, so it's in DeNA's own best interest that Nintendo's core business is as successful as possible, because that will extend and grow the partnership.

Does Nintendo have anyway of measuring how much business in it's dedicated hardware field is directly generated by DeNA's mobile apps? I would think revenue and downloads of the apps would be how Nintendo measures the success of their partnership with DeNA. Of course it is in DeNA's interests for Nintendo to be succesful due to their partnership, however their priority is certainly the success of the apps they create themselves.

I'm sure they have really high expectations for Super Mario Run

Hopefully it does as well as they predict
