Does Nintendo have anyway of measuring how much business in it's dedicated hardware field is directly generated by DeNA's mobile apps? I would think revenue and downloads of the apps would be how Nintendo measures the success of their partnership with DeNA. Of course it is in DeNA's interests for Nintendo to be succesful due to their partnership, however their priority is certainly the success of the apps they create themselves.
