I guess Sony don't want to repeat the embarrasing Demon's Souls publishing situation again.

The sins never die! Can't wipe the "Not publishing Souls" off my hand!

I bet Shu secretly still thinks Demon's Souls is trash.

Now on topic.

I read a tweet (which i cant find at the moment) where someone said that they would treat it as a first party game and Koei Tecmo retweeted it, if thats true then...

In my opinion taking this games that were announced as exclusives (without a deal or anything), and locking them down as proper exclusives too me is a better way of appealing to the PC crowd (and any type of gamer in general), than making the PS4 Pro... which was made to appeal to the PC gamers, and i really doubt a lot of them would trade their PC gaming for a console that before release is already underpowered compared to most mid too high end gaming rigs, i feel the need to be clear with this topic, some of them might do it but again i doubt the majority will.

Sony normally gets a lot of Japanese exclusives for no real reason and some of those games end up being quite great, and because of their success they end up going multiplat later, which is completely understandable, (in fact whats hard to explain is why some of them where exclusive in the first place...), So its nice too see Sony realize the potential of one of this games and locking it down as an exclusive (and promoting it as well), afterall no one can complain for a game that was already "exclusive" being locked down as one.

Shu was the reason we got Bloodborne tho, so that made me forgive him.

Everyone can fuck it up sometime.

Maybe this will actually get a decent marketing push and might sell decently here now. Tecmo Koei doesn't really market their games in the west. I don't think I've ever seen an ad for Ninja Gaiden, Dynasty Warriors, Attack on Titan, Dead or Alive, or Toukiden on TV.

What happened with Demon Souls?

Shu passed up the publishing rights because he didn't think it would do that well.

Its funny because it could have led to Demon's Souls 2 or Dark Souls being exclusive or even a complete buyout of From Software.

Without doubt, Sony's lack of enthusiasm lead to Dark Souls. Sony made the wrong call there but we have to ask ourselves whether the Souls franchise would have been as big and as relevant if Sony hadn't made that mistake. And who knows but perhaps Bloodborne wouldn't have seen the light of day. It all worked out in the end

The PS5 Exists.

Have to correct you a bit on this one, because that's not exactly what they said PS4 Pro is for. I think Scorpio may be. But for Pro, Sony didn't say it's for people who are already primarily PC gamers and would trade their PC for Pro. But rather people who are console gamers but midway through the console generation start to look toward PC, as console hardware starts getting older. The idea is to entice them to stay, rather than leave for PC. So that's a bit different than if they already had a powerful PC to game on.

You are right, the tittle messed my memory of the info on the actual article, since its literally called "Sony boss: PS4 Pro is going after the PC audience".

The article in question: http://www.polygon.com/2016/9/9/12867004/ps4-pro-vs-pc-xbox-one-project-scorpio

Thanks.
