Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo is going to win the holidays with NES Classic Edition

They could even release it on a controller that you plug straight to your TV, or even better, pair with it and you can play wireless... the size and processing capacity is neglible and would all fit inside the controller (there are plenty of knock-offs that already do it)... but let's hope it have good sales.

Yup.

Its certainly going to be a success, and I can see it selling around 2 million worldwide. Now, will it be the best selling item in the holidays? There is the possibility, but I doubt so.But that dosent mean it wont be a huge success.I personally going to buy one.Maybe after December, but Im certainly going to get one.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

at first I thought it was cute.... but yeah.... now? no hype for it at all. Cuteness factor isnt enough to sell this.

Nostalgia is a very strong selling tool but no

Not the greatest fan of the NES and not the ideal selection of games for me. It's a cute little thing but for actual gameplay people will tire of it quickly. It's more something to look nice on a shelf.

I've too much gaming clutter already.

I think I have all these games on both my Wii and Wii U....and 3ds.

I do and I'm still buying this. :) Though maybe I could just buy one of the controllers, pop it into my WiiU and play the games that way. Hmm.

It may win the cutest item put on a shelf and never played with award. It is quite cute. I may eventually buy it just for that purpose.

Spending 100s of hours on it? I'd be surprised if most spent an hour on it. People will buy it. Plug it in, and then go "ah I see" and then put it away.

Probably.

"What? No tutorial on how to move and jump? This game is impossible!"

I disagree :/

Nah, most people who grew up with the NES are too busy taking pictures of their kids and sharing them online or taking pictures of themselves of vacation or taking pictures of people on vacation who are taking pictures of their kids to share them online.
