Nintendo should definitely try developing DKR2. I think it could sell at least 2 million.

That's the problem though, if they put the same amount of effort and resources into making a Mario Kart it'd sell anywhere from 8-40 million. They'd be better off making a Mario Kart in the style of DKR... with the adventure mode and bring over some of the characters.

Eh, not sure if I necessarily agree with that. That's like saying " Why make a new StarTropics when a new Zelda will sell better?" or " Why make a new 3D DK game when a new 3D Mario will sell better?"

Eh yeah, my point only really makes sense if the same studio that usually develops Mario Kart develops DKR instead.
They'd never make StarTropics or a 3D DK game instead of mario/zelda, those series are always in development, but another studio could do it.

It's actually not problem, Switch will have one or two MK games in any case, while Diddy Kong Racing is also karting game it's quite different than MK, so can be sell along side with MK game, same like on N64.

In the case of DKR, maybe Nintendo could convience Monster Games to work on it? I'm not too sure..

Well rumour saying that Monster Games is working on DKC2 with help of Retro Studios. Just for record, Nintendo said that Retro Studios is big enough that could work on multiply projects in same time.
How many of the original DKR characters does Rare own?
I assume at least Banjo and Conker couldn't be in the new game. :/

I wonder how legit is that rumor.. Monster was working a while ago on some NASCAR game..]

Apparently game should be Wii Us game, but after terrible sales they moved project (that certanly most likly scenario for several Wii U unanuced projects) to Switch.
