Forums - Nintendo - Thing about Splatoon, MK8, Smash ports/remasters for Switch...posible Diddy Kong Racing 2

We saw Splatoon and MK8 running on Switch, and from reliable sources we know that Smash Bros port is also coming, also it seem this games will remasters with some new content, not just a simple ports, so more like for instance MK8.5 instead of just simple MK8 port.

With presence of those games on Switch, chances for completely new Splatoon, MK and Smash games on Switch becoming much lower.

So I was thinking, maybe finally we will get Diddy Kong Racing 2 because MK game will be already available on Switch and there is no real point having two MK games on one platform.

We already had rumours about Diddy Kong Racing 2 being in development, last year Nintendo files for a Diddy Kong trademark in Europe, also not having Diddy Kong like character in MK8 is very strange because he is important character and he was in MK Wii.

Guys, maybe we will get Diddy Kong Racing 2 on Switch. :)

Nope, not at all, we don't know who's making the porting, perhaps it's Nintendo, perhaps other companies like Tanalus, moreover this are portings made only to get a lot of titles ready for launch meaning that after that (but I'm shure they've already started) they'll be able to make full fledged sequels.

God I loved Diddy Kong racing...I still remember the dissapointment i felt(and then later awe) when I first beat Wizpig thinking I beat the game.

Adventure game and a racing game in one.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

It really doesn't matter who is doing porting, its point that you really don't need two Smash, two Splatoon and two MK games on one platform, those games were always one game for platform (expect Splatoon offcourse). I dont say we will not get new MK or Splatoon for sure (but I am sure we will not have new Smash on Switch), I saying that chances for that are now much lower.

Also its seems those game are not simple ports, but remasters with some new content (Emily Rogers also said that), in Switch video we saw  new things for MK8 and Splatoon.

All I care about is a XCX port.

Didn't the Mario Kart Team at point after the last DLC came out say they were finished with MK8 and ready for new producs or something like that? Just in case I didn't hallucinate that, that doesn't sound like they move on to port MK8.

Of course things like that are flexible and they might have been ordered to put down whatever they were working on to port MK8 over, but I'm thinking another less expierienced team is probably doing the port/remaster with the core teams supervision to free up some manpower for brand new content.

To be fair XCX is very expensive game for Nintendo, I imagine they would want to sell that game on Switch too.

Maybe that's just for MK8 for Wii U, to Wii U owners dont expect any new DLC.

There is something wrong with Nintendo I'd they try to sell the system with remasters. Even Sony doesn't produce that much remasters each year. They are sticking to one or two releases a year. So Nintendo don't release smash, MK8, Splatoon remaster in your first fiscal year of the NS. Spread it out for heavens sake.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Most of the WiiU's heavy hitters have the potential to sell way more than they've done, and Nintendo needs games to push the Switch both at launch and durng the first year. A lot of people who don't have a WiiU will consider those games as good as new, and I'm sure Nintendo won't mind double dippers. Plus, once the remasters are done, they can focus on brand new Switch games, which they will also have.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
