I love that everybody was confused by the article title and the editorial conclusion, yet right in the article it clearly states:

To support their device in this hard fought industry they have joined forces with no other than Nintendo. A company probably best known for their Wii series of devices as well as a popular handheld line of products. Nintendo is set provide the new tablet with the custom made Joystick peripherals as well as a custom OS made for a dedicated gaming device. The marketing will be shared equally between the two powerhouses of gaming. While many companies have tried and failed to break into the console industry, we believe Nvidia is on to something here and with a strong partner like Nintendo and a truly novel concept sure to not just raise a few eyebrows. So why anybody (including Polygon) could think this is a SEPARATE, COMPETING console to Nintendo Switch is beyond me.
I think it is reasonable that people treat the Switch as a Nintendo-NVIDIA joint venture, like Nintendo tried with Sony (unsuccesfully).
NVIDIA is not just bringing CPU/GPU, but they have experience applying it to handheld with Shield, and bring software stack.
Sounds awfully familiar.. :p

Exactly. And ironically, if this is true, Nintendo supposedly didn't want to announce it this early because they were afraid of copycats, when the copycat was the one they were actually working on the Switch with.
Pretty sure it's a joke. Or an attempt at one at least.
