The Castlevania-inspired Slain: Back From Hell may not be making its way to the Wii U after all.

The PC version was delayed earlier this year due to its intense difficulty, and that had a knock-on effect on the confirmed console ports - which included the Wii U.

However, Developer Wolf Brew Games - which is already working on Slain 2 - has now stated that it cannot confirm if the Wii U version is happening at all, and cites low sales on the console as an issue:

No, we can't confirm Wii U date, or that it is happening just yet. We were hoping it would but sales on that platform are just too weak to justify the port from what we have seen.

Will be interesting to see if they follow through with the Vita version in light of this news. It was supposed to release on 1st November but that seems unlikely now. The publisher was also boasting on the PS Blog that it'd be cross-buy.

Both Wii U and Vita versions were promised in the Kickstarter campaign. Possibly yet another dev failing to follow through after Hyper Light Drifter.

At least Wii U got Mighty no 9! At least I think that's a good thing :P

I don't get these Kickstarter devs. Not enough money to make a game but promising to port it to multiple platforms? And all for a minum of additional exposure? No wonder they can't find real investors to give them money.

That's why I dislike kickstarter devs.

Though I understand the frustration of some backers, to actually create a good port, for sub 500 copies does not make a whole sense. Still, they shouldn't promise if they cant deliver.

This is like the, nth game to receive this treatment on the Wii U?
