No, power hungry games such as Witcher 3, Mass Effect, GTA or future Elderscrolls/Fallout titles won't be going anywhere near the Switch.

The hybrid platform was never built around the idea of playing PS4 games. Why people keeping acting surprised with every piece of news is beyond me. Since the the origin of credible NX rumours they've all pegged it between Wii U and Xbox One.
Ps3 and XB360 were plenty of games that required minimum 4 times more ram on their PC version than the ram that was available on those consoles. I don't think looking the PC requirements is a good way to know what would work and what wouldn't on the Switch.
4GB is impressive for a portable device, is twice as much as their previous home console and 16 times more than its previous handheld.
Well for me personally, it's not a big deal. It being around twice as powerful as the Wii U, with the added portability and merging of game libraries makes it a good proposition for me still, but no doubting it's way behind the competition.
Well, I think that anybody who thought more than 4GB was being a little delusional. A 4GB RAM portable console is pretty good.

Probably, provided the OS uses very little. Is it enough RAM to run newer games well? That's the real question. Games are also going to continue to use more resources as they push the XO/PS4 closer to their limits.
I think that developers who are willing to rework their games for the Switch can probably get them running. How many are willing to do that? I guess we'll find out.

We already have confirmed list of 3rd party partners.
3GB RAM for games (PS4/XB1 have around 5GB for games), is enuf for PS4/XB1 3rd party ports in 720p.

Would they go near it if the Switch had the power, though?
4GB of RAM was very expected.
Have on mind that most likly 1GB Ram will be reserved for OS, that will leave 3GB of RAM for games, thats basicly 3x more than Wii U had for games. PS4/XB1 have around 5GB for games.

Yeah you're right, looking at PC requirements is definitely not accurate, but looking at other consoles is. Third Parties aren't exactly known for supporting Nintendo and half the ram gives them a reason not to.
But yes, Switch is a phenomenally powerful handheld console.
